Definitely.

**MAJOR OVERHAUL FOR THE SHARKS**

THE Cronulla Sharks are on the verge of a major roster overhaul with the 2016 premiers closing in on the signature of Dale Finucane and also discussing making a play for Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks.

The Sharks, St George Illawarra, Newcastle and North Queensland are the last club’s standing in the race to sign two-time premiership-winner Finucane from the Melbourne Storm.

The champion forward is tipped to make a decision today on Friday.

The Brooks play is a left field one from the Sharks and is only early doors at this stage but makes sense if new Cronulla coach Craig Fitzgibbon decides to push ahead with it.

It’s also a smart play because the Wests Tigers would have to cover part of Brooks’ freight.

Matt Moylan is also on the verge of agreeing to a one-year extension with the club and the Sharks are also intent on making a play to try and retain Will Chambers.

The Sharks and the Tigers are currently both bunkered down in the same Brisbane hotel.

**MAN BEHIND TIGERS-RAIDERS SWAP IDEA**

THE Wests Tigers official who spit-balled the Luke Brooks and Moses Mbye swap deal with Raiders guns Jack Wighton and Josh Hodgson was CEO Justin Pascoe.

In fairness to Pascoe the Canberra Raiders had signalled an interest in trying to get Brooks to the national capital for next year as the Green Machine continue their search for a halfback.

Anyone who knows football is aware of how in the like-for-like trade department there’s only one team who’s emerging the winner out of such an outlandish swap.

Even though Jack Wighton has been down on form this year he’s still the reigning Dally M Medallist and an out-and-out gun player.

Wighton and Raiders coach Ricky Stuart are also extremely thick and there’s no way the Green Machine want to see the five-eighth link with another club.

Pascoe has lit up social media this week in the wake of Fox League’s ‘Wild Wests: Tales from Tiger Town’ documentary which has everyone in rugby league talking.

**TIGERS’ SHEENS REUNION DELAYED BY COVID**

THE Wests Tigers new head of football performance Tim Sheens was due to be in quarantine in Sydney by now but unfortunately had his travel plans cancelled at the last minute due to the current COVID chaos.

Sheens has begun his new role from the UK and has been busy holding Zoom meetings with a number of key personnel at Concord.

The Tigers are currently working towards getting Sheens on the first plane possible to return home to Australia.

I still think its all bullsh#t...
Why would we want another hooker who is 32 in 2 months when we have 2 on the books for a few years who are young and ready to go.
Then he adds we wont Wighton when we have AD killing it at 6 and Hastings coming.
Hopper is just trying to cover his ass and I think it might of been a "tongue in cheek" comment he is blown up to make a story.
Hooper must not have a good name in the media with all the rubbish he reports and it funny how we are again in the media considering there is a massive story of a SOO player bringing in a girl twice to camp and this is 2nd fiddle to us..

It almost seems like someone is taking the piss out of Hooper feeding him false info

Agree... or we might be in the process of finding out the mole leaking info.. Club might be smarter then we think

I like that notion?

Can’t believe how many are taking Pooper at his word. Sure makes good click bait but that’s about all. Utter rubbish.

I like how he adds this line in after everyone laughed at how rubbish his story was.

Are we seriously looking to offload Brooks.....so Hastings has a position? And paying some of Luke's freight should he be offloaded? Surely there is more to it. Terrible idea. And it makes our already slow team, slower!

Why would the Tigers need to cover part of Brooks' freight if he were released to go and take up an offer with the Sharks? It's not like we're actively shopping Brooks as a salary dump. Hooper has absolutely no idea.

Tigers are not getting rid of Brooks

Pooper is still spewing fake news.
The only thing he said that is factual in terms of a player swap is that the Raiders initiated a conversation with WT to swap a player for Brooks.

Pretty close. The Raiders approached Brooks ( via third party ) not the club. Of course Brooks told the club. WT are no way letting Brooks go, but since the Raiders were asking, WT offered a way out counter deal knowing it would never succeed. Something like Whighton etc for some Flegg players. More or less a "hands off Brooksy" thing. Anyway, Chinese whispers....Hooper....you know the rest.

Pascoe would have been better off just saying no, and that's the end of the story. He's given breath to it by throwing in the other stuff.

Being a young Lebanese hooker with huge potential i’m sure the Dogs will go after him hard, and with us signing LIddle and Simpkin there’s no space for him in NRL currently. But he’s still a year or two from first grade having only played Ball as a 17 year old. Some time in Flegg and NSW Cup and he might replace Lidz.

Haven't we got more Lebanese players on the books the past number of seasons than the Bulldogs? 2-3 in first grade and 2-3 in reserves, and Moses before that.

I don't understand some people's preoccupation with a players nationality/heritage. It doesn't make him a better or worse player and it doesn't dictate where or who he will play with (these days).

For sure, but he knows that anything he says has a chance of being leaked to the public. Loose lips sink ships.

Demps, you might know...

Heard anything about Jacob Anjoul? Young hooker in SG Ball.

I heard we signed him on a 3 year deal a couple years back but apart from that haven't heard too much since. think he was injured this year because he didn't feature at all this year for Balmain in SG, said on his instagram he was playing for Ryde Hawks after nearly a year off. can certainly play, hopefully he's in the Lebanon squad for the world cup.

That's interesting that he's contracted because there's a bit of interest in him. Few clubs making enquiries. How old is he?

still pretty young mate, around 18 I think. you heard anything on the horizon as of late?

Brooks' integrity in advising WTs management of the approach is first class. He could have said nothing, not put in for the remaining games, claiming mental health issues until granted a release.

Who'd want to live in Canberra? I did for a year and I nearly topped myself.
