Are the people advocating for Bateman the same people bagging the Hastings signing?

Hastings plays a different position but looks head and shoulders above his teammates which includes Bateman.

I’d pass on Bateman for that reason.

Bateman has already shown he's a top class NRL player though

I keep misreading this as batman

Brent Read was reporting today John Bateman is looking to return to the NRL. Tigers should have a red hit crack if true.

I don’t think he has done much wrong tbh. Would easily be our best player. I don’t see us getting the signature of gun players though we can’t even sign borderline firstgraders.

Yeah I think he'd be a great signing, plus he seems like the sort of bloke that would go to the highest bidder.

We could play him on an edge and shift Leilua into the middle, which would immediately improve our edge defence, allow Leilua to play less minutes and generate more more offloads.

Sure did. He didn’t miss did he. Robbo handles himself so well in press conferences. I can see why the players put it every week for him, he’s definitely got their backs.

54 - 12. Robbo is learning what it's like to coach a team under the salary cap. Loved his presser but his team got beat convincingly because they didn't have the number of superstars he is use to, and the other team did. Welcome to our world.

54-12 with a team still with the Australian captain Teddy. As well as the next million dollar player in Manu, and the next Queensland halfback in Walker.

They only score 12 to one of the worst defensive teams in the top 8. And have 54 put on them

We don't have these types of players. If we lose to by this score everyone on the forum and in the media think its the end of the world and call to sack the coach.

Roosters lose they say they don't have their stars.

Because the Roosters have not had a squad as weak as this current team for as long as anyone can remember, and Robinson with all his coaching cred is not going to make much difference when he comes up against better squads. The defensive structure... very WTs like.

Roosters have been decimated by injuries this year and are still on the cusp of the top 4. That is all on Robinson.

And as the team becomes more decimated they become less competitive against better squads and have 54 points put on them - just like the teams that are ranked ***in the bottom half of the comp*** without access to rep/quality players. In terms of coaching it becomes an equalizer.

They have been decimated the whole season and are (for now) still in the 4. The teams in the bottom half are still in the bottom half. Hardly an equalizer.

Yes for the one game. Roosters have done an incredible job this year.


I can’t believe they’ve managed to stay in the top 4 after all the injuries. Been a hell of an effort.

MOst impressive performance of the season IMO.

Yer, it’s real amazing what u can do when u have been over the salary cap for years and getting away with it! And with all there injuries still have three current international players in their squad!! Look I really like Robertson as a coach , but come if it, scum club with no juniors and no fans...

He was VERY ordinary in Wigan's last game not even half the player he was with Canberra

Mm I doubt that. Moylan can’t stay fit, Metcalf still young. If he bides his time he’ll definitely be back in that starting time sooner rather than later

Moylan signed a 1yr extension with the sharks a few weeks back.
