Don't forget that he's completely untested as an NRL Coach. Ever hear of an assistant not making it as a head coach? Are we the ones to try it? Obviously has all the credentials...besides having never been anything more than an interim coach.

He's a real deal footballer aye.
I probably prefer him on the edge.
But yeah he can do a job.

Bellamy will sign him and turn him and Josh King into finucanes.

I think we all get too fixated with the price. It is not our job to balance the books. All we need to comment on is whether a player is a good fit for our club. If the club think they can afford him at 900 then they will go for it if they can’t afford him so be it. Remember whatever the media is quoting as a price is usually well off the mark anyway.

I’m happy for them to “value” each player. If a talented but lazy player is on 900 what msg does that send to the young players which will potentially make up the majority of our squad? A bloke on 300 will do 1/3 of the work. 900 is genuine marquee. We probsly disagree on kikau but I’m happy to pay unders for him.

If we were willing to offer TPJ $750k, then I would throw that much at him. I think he’s lazy at the panthers because he has so much quality around him. If he’s willing to push himself and take the lead he would be great for us. Would also be a good perception look for the club in terms of signing someone half decent.

Pretty sure kikau has terrorised a few of our players over the years. Would rather kikau on one of our edges then garner.

It’s all about the price though. He’s worth nowhere near 900. I’d say 650 max.

Agree. That means we would probably have to pay $750-$800 to get him.

Seems like our club will have to take anyone willing to sign at the moment, so any reasonable players at the right price must be considered and apart from foolishness, Elliot has no serious baggage to my knowledge and no worse than what we have.

No Drinking as this clearly seem to be the start of any issues and 2 years with 2nd year CO. That way he can prove himself and we have a get out if it goes wrong. He is a very good player and only 26 years old.

Good post tiger ferret my point was it is a waste of time for the forum to worry about what price we pay for players. Also I agree with you about Kikau I think he is a flat track bully with a ridiculous haircut and if I was a young player trying my guts out I wouldn’t be happy.

Makes dumb mistakes in most games also ....... we already have enough of those players already

A player who a lot on this forum have little time for Dylan Walker made a big difference for Manly when he came on against Storm would not be a bad pick up for WT'S especially with Douehi and Talau being out for the first few months of season 2022 and with Mbye gone would make a good bench player.Hope his learnt his lesson in regard to off field issues but surely his contract could be drawn up to cover

It would be impossible for me to want a bloke who allegedly beats up women at our club.I would hope we would have learned from the Lui experience
