I thought Liddle had a good year , def wouldn’t swap for Doorey , we just need to sign 3 or 4 good players , experienced guys that still have plenty to offer

Brooks—>Raiders
Hodgson OR Tapine —Titans
Fogarty —Tigers

Raiders clearly need a half, gets Brooks out of Sydney spotlight.

Tapine and his wife look like they’d suit the Gold Coast lifestyle. Big Tino has played half the year at prop and half at lock so they could accomodate both and shaft Wallace/Proctor to the bench or something.

Finally, JFog can GK, is a leader, a controlling game management half and could be left out in cold after emerge of Sexton and Campbell.

Surely GC can't afford Tapine.
Would love that swap.

Not sure about Fogarty...
Didn't he struggle when he was in Sydney briefly ?
Didn't really make it till recently.

I feel like you're definitely on the right path at least regarding trades.

Not sure, Fog definitely a late bloomer for sure. Think he brings what Brooks lacks though

Signings guys with baggage or age is exactly what we shouldn't do. We need to front load contracts in 2022 and sign some proper quality for 2023.

Getting stuck with a curtis Scott or tariq sims would do nothing for us

The concern I have with front loading contracts is you end up with a huge pile of cash you have to spend to comply with the salary cap rules. If we continue to struggle to attract decent players, you end up having to pay way way overs for duds you’ve already got or new duds.

We will eventually sign quality players, when the COM becomes the COE, and when we can prove we’re moving forward in a way that enhances the reputation of everyone connected to the club.
Sacking a coach, a player or the tea lady is not going to turn our fortunes. Gosh, we’re already seen as the graveyard of players and coaches.
We’re also seen as the club where a player can get a regular first grade spot. We need to take full advantage of that and we have been, if you run through our recruiting history? Laurie, Utoikamanu, Doueihi etc. that’s our market while we’re getting our act together.

Its is still just an upgraded gym / facilities ...perspective recruits won't be interested if we are still running bottom 4 ....

Hahaha, yes, it’s still only a building. It’s what people do that makes the difference.

E.G. Late line break should’ve held it, had 4 tackles or so up their sleeve, spread the next play probably a try. Forced the pass to an already marked Burton and ball to ground turnover
