Wests Tigers have just parted ways with GM Adam Hartigan, who brought Laurie, Stefano and Blore to the club.

Sheens now calling the shots. Bizarre move. The club’s only shining light has been the recruitment and development of the youth.

Anyone else think Chammas just lost his inside source.

Our biggest problem has been recruitment and Hartigan was in charge of it. Our 2nd biggest problems was leaks.

How could a person who came from one of the most successful clubs in the game and with a record of success be the problem? And we bring back a plodder from the dead.
I don't normally get on the negativity nelly bandwagon but this club is bonkers if true.

In 'normal' circumstances I would agree.
This is the Wests Tigers we are talking about. Cochise has basically stated he is one of now three 'rats' that were caught in the leak trap. I'm not denying that may be true but it just sounds eerily familiar for us. Is it just Sheens is getting the band back together? Heaven help us if it is.

Well it's pretty easy to identify who you want, the hard part is in actually landing them. If they end up with Ponga, Munster and Grant then good on them, but they may yet end up with Mbye, Norman and Mitch Rein...

Am i wrong in saying there is a cap now for all footy departments. I am led to believe you can only pay so much now to stop clubs going broke sacking coaches and the like. I would assume now Sheensy is back we may have gone over the cap so Hartigan was let go. Either way Ill put my trust in Sheensy to identify the future talent required. Hartigan did some good stuff but failed in many ways.

Ben Ikin rightly called us a bottom four roster back in March and he was spot on. We are looking like having another bottom four roster next year after not landing a single big fish. That’s after a few of our long term big money signings left the joint so it’s not a money thing. Not sure why this would surprise anyone, we would have to be one of the worst recruitment organisations in professional sport.

I've heard zero from the club about Hodgson being chased. So what that says to me is that when he stays a Raider or moves to Gold Coast, it will be yet another baseless story about how Wests Tigers botched the signing.

When Journo's start interviewing and quoting other journo's as if it's fact, it's time for the funny farm.

It is the other side of the story that gets too me. Liddle is a very fine player and a loyal WT. I believe he is a captain in waiting at WTs. He is articulate and presents well. He has made an amazing recovery from a very serious knee injury. Injuries of this type take a long time to overcome. I know this as my brother in law was a physio at two former first grade clubs. These posts which want to move him on are in very poor form.

I like and respect Liddle. For tigers to be top eight we need above average players. Is he in the top 4-8 hookers? I personally think he’s reached his ceiling hence the whole not in the future plans talk.

Josh Hodgson hasn't been in the top 4-8 hookers for the past two years, and sure as hell isn't going to be in two years' time.

He's British though isn't he? So no he wouldn't play for Australia. Also if the prerequisite for signing a 9 to our club is that they are the Australian hooker we'll be waiting a while.


The implication in saying “Josh Hodgson is an international hooker, are you kidding me?” is suggesting that representing England is as big of an achievement and as impressive as being an Australian international. It’s nowhere near the same. How much competition would he have for that jersey? As good as he was at his peak, he would not have come close to an Origin or Australian jersey. Any other rep jumper doesn’t carry the same significance as a lot of average players represent other nations because they simply aren’t as strong.

England is hardly a minnow though. The last world cup final was England v Australia, and it was a hard fought 6-0 match, and their forward pack was at least as good as ours.

If Liddle was a Pom and they were picking a squad now, there's no way England would be picking him over Hodgson.

I would be disappointed with Hodgson signing, **Canberra would not be letting him leave for just any reason,** he looked busted the last couple of years, this would increase young Simpkin chances of leaving early, he is the future. Either Simpkin or Liddle would have to go.

Problems there all year between Hodgson, Stuart and Canberra regards Williams going back to England amongst other things.
He was professional enough to play out the season without sniping or not putting in.

I dont know if I'd call sacking myself as Captain and standing myself down for a game whilst sulking professional.

He quit as captain after falling out with Stuart over a number of things (including info being leaked about him before he was told himself).
He made a statement to the media at the time saying he would still remain 100% focused on the Raiders success … which he did.
Don’t ever recall him standing down for a game except when injured.
Will be great for us if he comes.

At his peak - He's been about as rated as Farah ever was.

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that the club has parted ways with General Manager – Football Adam Hartigan, effective immediately.

Since joining the club midway through the 2019 season, Hartigan has played a key role in the recruitment and retention of a number of players to the club while also strengthening the Wests Tigers junior pathways network.

Tim Sheens will assume the role of Director of Football, effective immediately, with the club to confirm its new-look football department next week.

Wests Tigers would like to thank Hartigan for his efforts while at the club and wish him all the best in the future.
