Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Amazed that anyone is paying $700k for him - good luck to him I guess.
Absolutely shouldn't be letting him go unless we get a quality name in - preferably Papali'i a year early.

They didn’t have to pay $800-900k maybe they just needed to pay around $600k & the raiders would of put in the rest

600k for a 32 year old hooker with 2 recent ACL operations would be a near criminal waste of money imo especialy as his current form was not good. The club can use it far better than that

I think he’d go ok but all signs point to us being ordinary next year. I think Hodgson in 23 is a risk.

Mr Hair Colouring Pascoe ..

I call BS player manager spin here..

Sheens is in charge of football operations and recruitment/retention .. the manager is ringing the wrong guy..

Yeah. Its like ringing Alan Joyce regarding a bad Qantas air fare price.

The CEO doesn't answer the player managers. He or she manages the strategic side of the business.

Is cotric going back to Canberra? Heard he's leaving dogs

Yeah and we're gonna get Tapine.

@PJ said so!

How reliable?

I said this last year with Aloiai. If we keep letting people break their contract when it suits them, this will keep happening.

Moses, Ivan, Matterson, Aloiai, Leilua. It’s a trend that doesn’t happen at other clubs.

Hopefully we don’t get Lee or Pascoe come out tomorrow and say “we won’t be railroaded into releasing him” again.

They’re all over it now. You men need to find the faith or at least hope we *may* fare better this year. From both operational standpoint and on-field results.

Can’t have your cake and eat it

imo Pascoe has done well not negotiating higher what is already top $. No doubt Sheens and co would have known about the no call back.
Luciano was a massive contributer to our abysmal defence late last season and personally I am happy to see him go for some compensation.

Cowboys fans are chuffed

I’m off to the news agency sorry to the $2 shop to get some thank you cards to send to them for taking the greedy little pretender off our hands!

If i was negotiating Lucy’s release i would be buying 10 hamburgers a day and putting them in front of Lucy to eat and sending pics of it to the Cowboys.
saying “give us someone good in return or we’ll get this puppy up to 170Kgs in the next three months”

Why are we letting him go now….?…keep him for 2022 and off he goes in 2023,

Starting the season with Lucy and Garner was not an option. Weak defenders. If we can’t get a replacement then Blore and Tuilagi will battle it out to partner Papalii next year.

Isn’t Papalii starting in 23?

I dont see the leading teams rolling over and releasing early when we (or anyone else)signs one of their players a year out,so neither shld we.
Thats the system rightly or wrongly that we all have to work with..so lets be strong with Lucy and make him see out 2022 unless we can get a swap.At this stage we dont need $$..we need quality players for 2022
and btw,Cowboys paid similiar $$ for Lucy that we paid for Papa...one(who happened to be Dally M 2nd row oty..the other wasnt in the conversation) can defend as well as attack, and that same one can play for 80 mins..theyre not even close in value
Shows how desperate Cowboys are for any sort of "win"

Was for 2 years, second season at a massive discount, the raiders will fester this season due to this pigheaded behaviour and trying to spite us. It’s almost redundant now, but with another prop coming on board soon, the right play is “wait and see”, hang your money ball hopes on Luc and pray that the cowgirls are bending over... that’s it, or we hold the higher ground here!

End of story. @Madgic

Luciano has some style to his game but is far from being a complete footballer.

I don't think he has the pedigree to ever really become one either.

For the Cowboys, another Esan like signing.
I'll be very surprised if he sees out his contract.

His 3rd club in 3 years. Doesn't say much good about the guy.

People seem to keep forgetting lol, we’ve done nothing to contribute this year: as previously mentioned market is definitely not a wet one
