Bulldogs have a reported 8 spots left for 2023 with only 500k to spend which is IMPOSSIBLE to successfully register your squad

Cotric seems like he’s on his way to Canberra but will probs still need to move more with all the big names they’ve signed.

We were linked to Luke Thompson strongly not long ago, he’s on 800k at the dogs, I think we should go for him hard as he’s a damn good player he was practically on his own at the dogs and still held his own. They’ll chip in a bit just to give there cap some breathing space, offer to pay 500-550k which I strongly feel like they’ll accept to ship him off.

He’s 26 as well and English forwards age like fine wine, Sheens will know first hand what he can offer as he was THE MAN in the super league and dominated as a young kid and was one of the best forwards in the league with huge potential.

Sam Burgess and James Graham did the same thing and I really do see some sort of similar uprise from Thompson as he matures.

He’s already a work horse with huge motor and great defence and toughness who can develop along with Stefano and Papalili for our future.

Stefano and Thompson as our front row pairing would be dynamic - I think talks should be resparked especially with there latest signings

Im not against going pretty hard for Thompson but the only place we were ever linked, strongly or otherwise, to him was on this forum.

Well there was NRL.com

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has confirmed interest in English prop Luke Thompson

I disagree because he is overpaid and will miss a fair bit of football from here on in due to his reputation and foul play. The referees/touchies/video would have him near the top of the list for observation during games. For those reasons alone i would avoid him

You could say that about Latrell Mitchell as well, but I think every club would have him in there squad
I know I would

jacob liddle maybe to parra they need a hooker, they don't need liddle this year though so can't use it for 2022 to release Papali’i

Jacob Liddle has a contract with the Tigers for the next 2 years.

so did Josh aloia and matterson doesn't mean much if parra want him and willing to pay good money

It would mean a whole lot if Lids doesn't want to go to anyone else.

I don’t know what some on here want , Liddle is not origin class but he is a good 1st grade player , doesn’t miss many tackles has great pace , just needs to fine tune his play around the ruck maybe Farah can work on that

Needs to massively work on his cardio, the bloke is gassed after 30mins most matches. He's a very long way off being an 80min hooker.

Maybe if a few more do some tackling - he may not be so gassed.

Coen Hess is a state of origin player , and ppl here say he is no good , u ppl are harsh selectors , plz let us know who is Available that is better

I don't think hes No Good,

I think he should be one of the absolute weapons of the NRL.

To me he lacks the aggression and Speed.

Compaired to our pack or NRL in general?

Coen Hess, I would sign.

I would also go big for Payne Haas, i mean 1M but doubt thats possible. We just need muscle.

Haas is in the loop of SBW and his entourage. He will end up at the Roosters.

Is it time again?

Round 1- I like big benches round 1-4, bruise up the opposition.

Writing this list was hard because we honestly have no centres I can lock in and forget.

1. Laurie
2. Nofa
3. Roberts
4. AJ
5. Ken
6. Hastings
7. Brooks

8. Stef
9. Liddle
10. Mikaele
11. Blore
12. Luch
13. Twal

Bench
14. Peachy
15. Thompson
16. Musgrove
17. Joffa

Personally I just prefer Twal at 13, bring in Thompson at prop and play Peachey off the bench to provide spark and impact

But I do agree he would probably be better suited at prop but still think he can bring something as a lock then maybe shift to prop later within the game when Peachey comes on

Sorry …but for me Twal is no lock. He has no ball skills and offloads are no existent. Very good one dimensional player but a good one. Prop is his spot.

If Tigers and Cows can't negotiate a player swap Tigers should send Luc to Eels for a gap year and get Papalii early.

If Lucy punches on with Liddle, what would he do with Moses? Let's make this happen.

Tui Kamikamica Stood down from Melbourne.

Let’s give him a chance and swoop in on him.

Stay reckon our best ploy is to really start to fatten up Lucy. And get the Cowboys panicking to get him into their pre season training by releasing a young athletic back rower

I am so over this:
"Penrith powerhouse Kikau has reportedly inked a four-year deal worth just over $800,000 per season, while Parramatta’s pint-sized hooker Mahoney has signed a four-year deal at $650,000 per season."

Yea right. There is No way they can be signing who they are signing.

Absolute rought.

Bulldogs are cheating the cap worse then Easts or Storm.

Not if it’s confirmed violence against women. That’s shit.

I wouldn’t mind Thompson as long as Dogs are paying around $300k of his yearly contract money. He brings some mongrel and toughness we lack and as long as he keeps the aggression controlled he could be a good starting prop for us.
I’d have Mikaele or Musgrove in the rotation (depending on who steps up), Twal starting as 13 but giving way to Peach off the bench then falling back to prop. Tuilagi and Seyfarth filling out the rest of the bench. Blore and Garner start in 2ndrow.
I still want Hodgson to lead this pack around as I feel that is a big part of what’s missing.

**NRL news: Who will Parramatta Eels sign to play hooker in 2023?**

Api Koroisau, Reece Robson and Jacob Liddle have all been pitched to the Eels in the wake of the crushing departure of Reed Mahoney to the Bulldogs.

Liddle is another hooker off-contract in 2023 with the Wests Tigers dummy-half linked to a move to the Raiders in a swap for Josh Hodgson.

Liddle has also been spruiked to Parramatta as an answer to Mahoney in 2023.

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/nrl-news-parramatta-eels-hooker-reed-mahoney-signs-with-canterbury-bulldogs/news-story/5c17020f25e31d93e19f9766f2753e21

Liddle has a contract till the END of 2023

Contracts mean nothing look at LL wanting to leave now I’m not saying they want to offload Liddle now but if they want to they can give him permission to look elsewhere

And maybe he doesn't want to go elsewhere. Hasn't got much to beat where he is.

Not stopping his manager spruiking him around and making it known he doesn't want to be coached by Madge

Amazing how these rumours about Liddle emerge when the Eels have lost their No 9. Coincidence? I don't believe so.

Gotta disagree when it comes to tackling, he definitely needs to work on his defence
