Hasting is a winner

Who's never won anything....

If you know your Super League, getting Salford to the GF is a win. Also won man of steel

Yep... I know my Superleague,

And stand by my comment....
Seen plenty of MOS winners who wouldn't stand out in ressies here....

The fact that Sam Tomkins won it last year, Should well and truly help you gauge the standing on the award you mentioned...

At least he’s passionate and wants to win very vocal too can’t say that for most of our players unfortunately

Josh Reynolds says hi

Don't you believe that the clubs need quite a lot more players then the one or two it currently has? It may change the way the team has been heading.

Yes - We do...
(Although, you wouldn't know it looking at the Brooks thread)
We all hope JH31 kills it... We really do.

But he's hardly the Champion he's been made out to be here...
Not yet anyhow, :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For gods sake , how about holding all ur hate for players we have signed , until they at least get a chance to see how they go in at least the 1st 6-10 weeks than u can either bag them say how good there going . Hate this he ain’t good enough shit , give the blokes a go at least before u bag them .

"If" anyone is bagging him - What's the difference between doing that before he plays a game for us -
And those calling him a proven match winner, club captain and the endless other posts here bigging him up?
All before he's played a decent footy in the NRL?

Personally, I'm undecided - I'm Hopeful he goes well...
I just don't understand the endless posts, Seeming it's a foregone conclusion that he will, Or he's better than what we currently have...
It's baseless...

Well Brooks won our player of the year.
Doesn’t say much for that award either.

And I won 2nd in the under 12's 50m Butterfly at the School Carnival in 1987... I don't see your point.

Hastings won nothing in a nothing comp, Was moved on from multiple clubs while doing nothing in his last NRL Trot, Plenty of clubs in the NRL could use a "A Match Winning 7" (As he's touted here) yet one of the worst clubs in the comp is the only one to remotely show interest.

Don't get me wrong, As long as he's in our Jersey - I want him to kill it, And the team do well. But a little perspective here won't go astray (That's for sure)

He's literally proven nothing... He may well do (God, we all hope he does) But, In such an important position - Any "runs on the board" that could be factored in - really don't account for anything... Certainly not the way half this forum indicates....

Anyone would think we've signed the 06 Thurston...

If you want to talk about perspective you would have to agree he hasn’t got much to beat here as a halfback.
Brooks is a 150 game dud that finds it impossible to motivate his team or show any sense in how to control a game… a perpetual loser.
The reason people are talking Hastings up is simple…hope for a winning change.

Josh Reynolds says hi

Hastings is a natural organiser, very different to Reynolds.

And the impact they both had in Super League is worlds apart. Reynolds joined an already decent team, went alright, but didn't stand out. Hastings joined an absolutely rubbish team, and transformed them.

Achieved more than about 90% of the blokes in our squad...

Probably more talking about his attitude anyway. Bloke wants to win can't say the same for most of them. Hopefully the Wests Tigers stink doesn't take away his passion too soon.

What I personally get tired of is people talking him up over the most trivial things. The best one I’ve one read was someone was convinced he was the guy to lead us because he had a chat with him at the gym and that he was a great bloke.

It shows you how crap Tigers players have been when one bloke that has a good attitude can get so much love from the fans, even before he plays a game. Been a decade of blokes happy to bludg

Literally barely anyone is talking him up as our saviour, for some reason you and some other people think as soon as someone says he has a good attitude or could be good for us, they're saying he's the next messiah

And for the millionth time anyone saying he's captain material is basing it purely off his attitude - it shows you how few leaders we have at the club. Our current halfback certainly isn't one, Tamou is a leader but isn't effective enough on the field, Doueihi is our best option but is out half the season.

Anytime someone says anything positive about Hastings you or other people feel the need to be negative and talk them down. Just leave it for once, it's the same thing over and over. Try keep the place a little more positive

Anyway, isn't there a Hastings thread this has been talked about 100x?

That is so true. 2022 is the testing year for Wests Tigers management including the coach. Will Wests tigers continue supporting the current bludger culture or will it change?

He hasn't established himself as an NRL player. That is his first task.

**He's played more NRL first grade games than a good number of our blokes** plus his game in England

I'm sure he'll do alright. Was only talking about his attitude anyway

Pretty meaningless when two of the most experienced players in our squad are two of the most loathed. Those two being Brooks and Noffa.

Loathed by you maybe. Very few more if any. Grow up or follow another team. Sick of your crap.

This is spot on. Thank you.

All you whiney brats that criticise people who give Hastings praise are guilty of the exact thing you're criticising. We haven't seen Hastings play NRL in a few years therefore can't say he'll at least be an upgrade on what we have? Well neither have you.

You're fine to be pessimistic, but if others don't have the same tepid and dreary outlook on the world kindly shut the [This word has been automatically removed] up. We are all sick of being told we can't be hopeful that the new players we have brought in will make any difference. We get it. Shut up.

GNR is Nofos #1 fan...

"Loathed" might be a bit extreme but it's pretty clear those two are disliked by a lot of the fans

Dude, relax. It’s just footy. You don’t have to get emotional like someone has threatened to murder your family. Anyway, I don’t remember any of the pessimists telling the optimists to shut up or telling them they can’t be hopeful. Quite the embellishment there. They are more than welcome to be as positive as they like. It’s only fair that that is reciprocated. Especially if it is constructive, which in most cases it is. Very rarely does a pessimist say “we’re crap” and leave it there. Usually it will be backed up with reasons why. It’s really not as bad as you are making out. It’s not like anyone gets joy out of saying we’re rubbish. It’s an honest assessment based on years of failure. What a ridiculous thing to suggest everyone should shut up if they have nothing positive to say. Difference of opinion should be embraced, isn’t that the point of a forum? Just because someone states an opinion that makes others uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s not valid.

All you whiney brats that criticise people who give Hastings praise are guilty of the exact thing you're criticising. We haven't seen Hastings play NRL in a few years therefore can't say he'll at least be an upgrade on what we have? Well neither have you.

You're fine to be pessimistic, but if others don't have the same tepid and dreary outlook on the world kindly shut the [censored] up. We are all sick of being told we can't be hopeful that the new players we have brought in will make any difference. We get it. Shut up.

Exactly,
Have to go a long way on this forum to find a poster that Supports ALL the players - ALL the time.
Showing hope, support and nothing but love for one player in one thread, And bagging the crap out of another in a different thread.... In the same breathe almost. And then call into question someone elses' outlook on where we're at.

It's all very much the same, whether it's seen, or owned up to.
We all just wear it differently....

I’m hoping Hastings goes alright he resurrected his career over there, his ability was always there for a better than average player but his attitude was the issue. It’s pretty apparent even he recognised that and was willing to give it an adjustment. My hope is him an Brookes gel Brooks isn’t a talker Hastings is, Brooks arguably has more ability but can’t talk.
