I was watching 2021 all stars match highlights yesterday

Its funny cause 2 current tigers recruits were the only ones binned ?

Did musgrove get suspended or injured in any event bloke never players regular first grade games.

Suspended, a big one from.mempry... like 3 or 4 games

This is the issue. Way too many things have to go our way for our pack to be a dominant pack.

Musgrove has got as much to prove as any player this year imo. Does anyone know if he’s fit and in the mix for round 1?

He looked pretty fit striding up the courthouse steps.
Jokes aside, he has featured in preseason training pics in the gym and out on the paddock.
I think Madge still holds onto the memory of Zane smashing into the defense like a man possessed when at Souths.
Indiscretions on and off the field and injuries made him practically useless to WT.
After the club showed faith in him, he finally was about to prove his worth during the all-stars game when he got sent to the bin for shoulder charge. [ Ive scrutinized that tackle and he practically turned his back on the attacker, a report but no sin bin IMO]
He was lucky to get a contract this time around and he's was quoted as saying “I owe this club"
He seems focused.
If he has solid trials he will be a starting prop IMO because it's no secret that Madge rates the guy and we need pure aggressive behaviour from our engine room [controlled aggression Zane!]


At his best he makes the 17 but he has a long way to go imo

At his best he starts hand down.
He can be a complete weapon and has alot to prove this year. Lets hope be stays injury free and comes out of the blocks firing. Hard heavy straight runs and crunching defence.

If Musgrove can hold his own and Stefano builds on last year, then we just need Blore and some of the backrower kids to click and we could actually have a reasonable season - but way too many ifs for me.

When we re signed Zane, I was over the moon and said then that he would have a big impact on our season and him not play did just that.
If he is fit, he will dominate a lot of packs and provide the aggression we desperately need. I hope he is just the partner for Stefano.
During the All Star game, until his alleged shoulder charge; he was MOM in the forwards.
I may be wrong, but I also thought he was some relation/connection to Madge?

**Wests Tigers are excited to announce that Justin Matamua has re-signed with the club for the next three seasons.**

An impressive Wests junior, Matamua will be promoted to an NRL Development Player in 2023 before progressing to the Top 30 squad in 2024.

The announcement comes the day before Matamua leads the Western Suburbs Magpies in their SG Ball season opener against the Balmain Tigers at Kirkham Oval.

The lock has gained valuable rugby league experience over the past few months, having trained with the first grade squad this summer and was selected for the Future Blues camp.

“As a local junior, it means a lot to me to sign with the club. It’s always been a dream of mine to play for Wests Tigers and pull on the jersey,” Matamua said.


“I’m so grateful that the club saw something in me and have given me this opportunity.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe congratulated Matamua for extending his contract.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers, I’d like to congratulate Justin on re-signing with the club for the next three seasons,” Pascoe said.


“As a club, we’re all looking forward to watching him take the next steps in his development in a Wests Tigers jersey.”

Wests Tigers Director of Football Tim Sheens was pleased to have secured the re-signing of Matamua.


“Justin is a talented young forward and we’re very excited to see him continue his career in a Wests Tigers jersey moving forward,” Sheens said.

"He is an example for all our local juniors of the pathways we want to continue here, and I look forward to watching him take the next steps of his rugby league career at this club.”

Will be watching him really closely at Saturday’s SG Ball game in Camden.

With Blore out for most likely the entire season, signing a second rower is now pretty important

Only recognised second rowers we have are Luciano, Tuilagi and Garner. I don't want to resort to putting Joffa or Seyfarth there so signing someone aa depth seems important

Agreed and sadly looks like one less "if" as Blore could now be out for the season.
