Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Rubbish , yes he talked a lot on the field , but when I go back and watch the games again , he is slow and didn’t run the ball , he also let the forwards run one out and right next to the ruck where they got smashed , so no he is not a massive loss
Kicking game was horrible and ego through the roof🤮🤮

But there has to be a leader, and that is always the head coach. He sets the broad strategy but with scope to play heads up.
Imo Once a player has signed for the club, it is in his, and the clubs, interest to contribute the best of what they have.
That will make them more desirable and increase their earning potential.
Or am I being old school and naive ?
Clubs have led the way in not backing coaches and players are impacted as much as anyone because of that. The new coach may not rate a player like the coach they signed with. It's like any work environment if you are not valued somewhere and another place offers you opportunity closer to what you aspire to you are going to take it.
Fans view is skewed because we remain loyal to the club regardless with no control of the comings and goings and decisions made good or bad.

I think it's time that someone made a comment about player attitude and entitlement. What's happened to the game that we now have players believing that they should only play in their favourite position. Guys demanding to play fullback or, in our situation, either halfback (Hastings) or five eighth (Douehi) is ridiculous when they're paid good money to do a job for their team in whichever position the coach sees fit. Call me old fashioned but this crap needs to stop. If the player doesn't like the position assigned to them, which the coach believes is best for the team, let them sulk in reserves! It should never lead to a player agitating for a release but, of course we know it's starting to become common practice.
The younger workforce exhibits the same trend, I have 60 odd staff and it helps be weed the bleeps out.

Best players should get best Coin.

Best players regularly change the outcome.

Cheers, didn’t like Uncle Bennys comments about coming back to WT, as they seemed like an indirect way of letting us know we are out of the race !
But no news is good news so guess I’ll just have to be patient.

More likely uncle says in the media he really doesnt want to leave so up your offer to make it worthwhile.

B

Brooks has not demanded to play a certain position unlike others e.g hastings

AD may have wanted to play 6 but to date if he is playing centre he hasn't elected to play at another side due to a positional change neither has Brooks

Hastings is the only player at wests tigers who took his bat and ball and left to chase a different position as he was unhappy to play 13 rather than 7
Seriously?
That is all based on your unrelenting adoration of Brooks… not on facts.
Nobody has ‘demanded’ to play anywhere.
Hastings said publicly he was happy to play any position and wanted to be here in ‘23.
There has been zero proof either AD or Hastings have demanded anything … only speculation or innuendo by their detractors.
As for Brooks never demanding anything?
How would you know… maybe he has?
I should start a rumour to get the ball rolling.🤣
At the moment, if he remains at halfback, we’re just stuck with him anchoring us to the bottom.

@Jedi_Tiger needs to ease up on the Brooks love...

We get it, don't need 100 posts a day to remind us 😂

If Moses re-signed with Eels, why would they wait weeks to announce it? They'd end the speculation now.

Only Tigers (or Dogs) would have to wait weeks because they would be attempting to get him over for 2023.
Thats exactly what i thought - the eels deal is just an upgraded contract and you would think they would want their members to know immediately. The only thing that would hold them back would be if they are upgrading him from 2023 and they need to move someone from their roster to accommodate it. Step up Nathan Brown.

My take on all of this is we would take N Brown if Mitch comes for 24 however because the Eels have restructured Moses deal in the last week or so which involves larger 23 increases on the proviso Brown leaves (they would allocate most of his cap space to Moses) we have stepped back from Brown.
I wrote something similar before i read your post - i tend to agree.

Our offer to MM is greater than Para’s .. the ball is in MM’s court right now .. he still hasnt given us the nod as yet .. nor has he told Para anything.. which is a strange thing to do. I personally believe that he is playing both clubs and is milking us both for all it’s worth. Is he waiting to see if Para can somehow find enough money to retain him .. or is he just waiting for Para to find a replacement before letting MM announce that he is leaving .. ??
