Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Even allowing for the cap increase that is a horrible horrible horrible deal for us.

We have to remember, that while Moses is a better player then Brooks, he chokes just as many if not more big moments than Luke does. So if your talking 1.4m and 5 years, your not just talking about a half that can help get you to the finals, your talking about a half that nails big moments more often then not.

Last year Moses choked in game winning situations a number of times. Missed goal against us, missed field goals against us, missed easy goal against Penrith. He failed in the big moments everytime. That's not a 1.4m player.

You only sign a half for that money and for 5 years if he has proven he can win the comp. IMO Moses is generally a better 7 than Brooks, i dont think anyone argues that, but he is no better then Luke in the clutch plays.

1.4m.... 5 years...please no.
Yeh but there is nothing else out there. That s the issue. I honestly don't mind if he doesn't come as long as we have a plan in place. Moses is the David Warner of NRL, goes great at home on a flat track but take him out of his comfort zone and goes to water.

If its 5 so be it we're not getting a better half than Moses that will actually come to the club. I would prefer 4 but if its true i'd be ok with it and i assume the would be a good chunk of TPA's in it. Lets see how true it is the dogs forum is hardly a reliable source.
Also i cant recall hearing of a gun half coming through the jnr's in that time correct me if im wrong about that.

I am not as worried about this as the wingers and Centers actually working together for defence.

Sheens could put Beau Ryan in position to score (ok he had some pace).

As long as Mamaulo can defend, we can plug that gap on the wing. It's why Nofo is such a problem, he can score and cross the line, in fact I say he is a great try scorer. He just never works up a solid defensive pair with his center and score when he gets space near the line. Sheens will come up with the crazy play, that is guaranteed.

If Naden and Staines become the wing pair, it would not be the worst thing in the world. I can see both offering more in attack and defence then the Nofo/Mamaulo pairing.
Ok let’s put some creditably to ur comment , Naden has terrible hands and he would never make the meters that Moro or Kenny would make , Staines for me is still a work in progress, he has had the advantage of playing on the end of a gun backline , so let’s wait and see how he goes if given the chance, I know so many on here hate 3-4 of our players but nofa and Kenny have busted there arse for this club and we owe them more than to trash them all the time

Our best junior halves coming through are between 15-17 years old, now.

So will still be a while for them (not including Oliver Lawry, as I haven’t watched him play a full game, or in person, so won’t make a judgment on him yet).

Otoni Large was a name being touted as a future half

Can cop 5 years to get it done. Parra was never going to give him 5, reportedly wanted Moses for max 3 with 4th year a club option.

Ideally the 5th year would be at a reduced wage.
This is what I hate. We accepted Nofo for Overs, 500k + 5 years.

I am prepared to say "yes" to 5 years, but 5 years at 1 mil. I am prepared to say yes to 3 years at 1.4. With who we recruited we should not be signing these teamkiller deals.

With the cap increase, that's not a bad price for a Top 4-quality halfback.

Five years obviously not ideal, but if that's what it takes to get him, I'd be fine with it.

DCE is still a good halfback at 33/34, Moses would be 32/33 at the end of the 5 years.

Would be more than happy if we were to get him on that deal, it turns us into a Top 8 side, in my opinion.
I really don't rate Moses as lasting that long, IMHO.

He plays a very physical/aggressive game, which is good. But that will take a toll on his body, a big toll.

We will get 3x good years out of him, he won't be a DCE for us but may sort the Halfback issue. We need to force Doueihi out OR force him into the Centers.

Of course Moses isn’t coming to the tigers. Move on… we just signed Brandon wakeham
Maybe, maybe not.

Moses would be a swap in for Doueihi or Brooks. Not Wakeham who is kinda reservist.
Yet I would have thought that signing Wakeham would occur After Moses, so we have probably missed Moses (fine with me IMHO).
