Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I Moses holds all the cards while there are no deadlines in place and let's face it they don't work well for us . Don't trust the bloke he is likely to be negotiating a deal for Brooks under the premise of them being together get that done - then come back and say sorry Parra has upped their offer and Moses is staying put.

Fair enough when you have an option for 24 with parra anyway.

Can't imagine clubs lining up for Kyle. Also thinking it is a half with Buzz listing Oloapu and Reynolds (so maybe not Averillo..although there would be clubs after him).

Someone whose path has been blocked is my guess. Could be Khaled Rhajab, Bailey Howard, Joseph O'Neill. All talented halves whose path to 1st grade was just made more difficult.
All three of those players would probably leave now, why stay when your path is blocked?

Several people on here also said that Moses was meeting with us on Thursday and an announcement was imminent.
So neither happened ?
Who can you believe, only an official announcement I'd say, the rest is drivel.
He probably sources his (made up) information from here.

Buzz strikes me as someone who would be computer illiterate. He would have a cadet 'journalist' trawling all the forums and Facebook, reporting back to him at the Pickled Possum between his spaghetti marinara and 5th glass of red.

Buzz just knows how to report on people emotions. At least he does his research not like those people who quote twitter posts as their source.

You need a 5th glass of red so you can prepare properly for your 6th glass of red.It is all research

True but if he gets at really bad injury I bet he wishes he signed a new contract.

Hes only getting this money because no other halves are available. If Moses takes thr player option we will move on from him as well as a few other clubs due to his age.

No I think he will resign or sign elsewhere.

Maybe it was " a phase they were going through" coz traditionally they had been super together.
Ivan did bring out the best in Brooks, whether it was a personal project or the type of football we played.
I'm prepared to see if it works again playing Sheensball !
True, maybe it will be different.
Though 100% we were still playing "Sheensball" under Mick Potter. Taylor was the one that really changed the culture from Sheensball, to "you will follow my structure or else".
^for better and worse.

Both Brooks and Moses are better defenders now. My concern with Moses is to his credit, he puts his body in now (I worry he will injure himself a lot).

Yes I think we have 100% given up on Moses, I would rather us not sign anyone else and see how Staines goes. Staines may be a long term fullback or Centers option but we will need to be competitive to keep him and Penrith have a lot of people to offload.

He's also hopelessly biased and compromised. If we had have signed a 33 year old Josh Reynolds and let a budding talent go elsewhere he'd be doing his stupid guffawing on Fox League. Gus does it and Buzz says who is he to question their decision.

True. Depends what kind of journalist you want to be. Good journalism takes emotion out of it, emotional/biased based journalism should be limited to the pages of woman's Day or ok magazine.

1.2-1.4m is not a concern for me as a top line half leading into the next few years with the cap increases is only a little over the average for 7's TBH. Halfbacks don't come cheap but make or break a team and just need to look at the Broncos and Cowboys last year with Reynolds and Townsend.
Moses is younger than both and in footy years is just starting his prime years now. Not concerned about his age at all but his kicking and goal kicking will be massive (if his coming).

I would love to know ASAP just so everyone can move on and get onto footy.
Allegedly…
I agreed. We have no idea what the real agreements are, here or at any other club. So we can only assume. And you you what that means. But what I do know is that players careers are bloody short and until someone can prove me wrong no players signs on for less money. Well what the NRL are told is a different story.

Don't we have enough forwards now ? Doubt he would be on our radar.
He was the best forward going around at the end of last year if we could land him our pack would be awesome, SO forget what he done before because he’s allowed to play by the NRL , so why wouldn’t we get a player that would make us a much better team
