Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He also tells anyone that will listen that Daine Laurie is a 5/8.

Who knows, maybe he is onto something.

Just for the record, I think Burton is a centre but that's just me and what the hell would I know anyway.
I think Gus is a Snake.. he is currently playing as Football Manager, and does the job well and has loads of experience, but his true talent is that whenever the team starts to struggle the shake comes out and just steals the players straight out from under the noses of the other teams… … true instinct for survival. 😉😁

I realise some grasp the concept of development coaching quicker than others, but hope it doesnt take Benji that long? I think Webster has been coaching half his life? Didnt he spend some time in ESL with his brother James, who is also a coach?
That is correct - he was assistant coach for Hull KR under Justin Morgan (who is now is assistant at the warriors) and he also created Hull KR pathways program. SG Ball at Balmain (undefeated season), JF Parra Head Coach, then back to the tigers for a few years. Cleary poached him when Barrett left. They used to car pool together everyday to training when at the tigers as they both lived in Penrith hence the relationship grew pretty strong.
Andrew understands his players strengths and then coaches within that rather than find players that fits how he wants to coach. That is what you call flexible coaching - getting the best out of what you have got and provide support in the gaps.
Fantastic coach, even better person.

Sounds so logical but so many coaches just can't be flexible. Love watching the Warriors and I'm on them big time. Be great if they won it. Andrew had the skills to play NRL, probably just lacked the speed that his brother had. Reminded me of Trent Barrett.

I see Webster as a no nonsense type of coach, like Bellamy. Maybe the type who would avoid the late night boozing and bullshitting sessions.
According to 360 earlier he is a quiet achiever, no histrionics or half time rants. Just talks about what needs to be done, and most importantly has achieved buy in by the players, notably SJ. Don’t know where the Warriors will end up , but they have done very well so far and playing attractive football.

Forget about Bennet he’s going cenile.
Who would play Te Whare on the wing ? Klemmer is quicker than him.
Ha … we put Flipper Kepoa on the wing,, the flapping arm tackle exponent that just takes an armchair seat and watches how the play pans out after he misses his man… seen nothing like it in decades of Rugby League viewing.. shame too because he started to play well in the forwards earlier in the year

Not a fan of Talakai at all he is just another BJ and at a crisp age of 27 start of next season he won’t get faster and find he will move probably to the forwards anyway.

Some of his efforts this year have been shocking & he has been found out a few times with lack of speed.
Wasn’t Talakai in the forwards when he first came into grade? I could have sworn he was in the Sharks forwards rotation originally.

I remember seeing him interviewed when he was the interim tigers coach and the humility he displayed was so refreshing as well as how excited he was to be at the helm.. he seems like a really exceptional person that also possesses a true love of and appreciation for Rugby League

He was also McFadden's assistant coach at the Warriors from 2015-17.
Thanks I was curious what the timeframe was. So us, moved on along with Payton when we began the JT era. Then back to us when we began the Ivan Era and then off following Ivan after a year of Madge.

Does the fact we have not already signed Aidan Sezer mean other options are on the table ?
You would presume Sezer is not flushed with NRL options and probably would have already signed with us if our offer was concrete.

I was thinking the same thing. Hawkins isnt a popular choice, but I can tell you he has some genuine upside if he is used correctly, which is as a traditional organising 7. He could easily do what Hastings is doing but with a better kicking game and more speed to take the line on. He just needs the opportunity and experience.
