Well said, Grasshopper, well said...Man, I was going to reply but now can only think Xena and Gabriel (assuming that is the Jirskyr reference. I HATED that character).
We seem to make a mistake of picking players on their top performances, not how low their bottom performances are.
Ofcourse I would like Bradman best here. Yet his market value is over inflated due to a great performance at Origin + Newcastle playing finals.
The ideal is to pick players like Best when their form is down and will improve...
Naden has potential to be good NRL winger.. tall and fast.. hopefully smells the blood in the water and really puts in this offseason.. tupou and staines nrl.. naden and Lobb in regies.. still not origin quality but a slight improvement on last year... ( noffa released )
Completely agree, he hasn't showcased it much in his time here but he's a pretty decent ball player so it's not unreasonable to think he could learn it.When Naden has played wing for us, I liked how hard his carries were out of our own end, but he was a terrible finisher. Really lacked sideline awareness and the ability to switch the ball to the other hand for a diving put down next to the corner post. This can certainly be improved with hard work, but it is something that doesn't come naturally to him.
I disagree with this. The best sides have elite players in that position. Tigers would obviously have to pay overs to get one of those.Paying $700k+ a year for centres isn't going to do you much good. Least important position on the footy field. A guy who can catch, pass and tackle will do you 90% of the job from there. Not fussed about missing out on Best at all.
the best centres have been developed internally. think about it. Crichton, Olam, Farnworth, Staggs, Best, Manu, Tago, Timoko, Penisini, Koula, Ramien, Billy Smith and Campbell Graham all debuted and were developed at their current clubs. the only "elite" centres that have moved around are Dane Gagai and Val Holmes.I disagree with this. The best sides have elite players in that position. Tigers would obviously have to pay overs to get one of those.
We've tried that for a while now & it hasn't really gotten us anywhere has it.Paying $700k+ a year for centres isn't going to do you much good. Least important position on the footy field. Whippy won't be on an nrl deal. no chance.Opens a spot for Mr Whippy. Tito - excited
Wing is most definitely his best position for us. He's utterly useless at centre, always has been. When Naden has played wing for us, I liked how hard his carries were out of our own end, but he was a terrible finisher. There we have it. Another wests story that contains absolutely no new information created only to garner clicks.

TIGERS IN THE BOX SEAT TO LAND JAROME LUAI
BY CHARLES GOODSIR 37 MINUTES AGO
The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio believes a move by Jarome Luai to the Wests Tigers is looking more and more likely with each passing day.
Luai’s current contract will see him remain at the Panthers until the end of the 2024 season but has yet to re-sign with the reigning premiers who have already tabled a two-year offer worth around $800,000 a season
Tigers rookie coach Benji Marshall is reportedly front and centre of the sales pitch to Luai and Riccio believes a decision on the 26-year-old's future is imminent.
“To Wests Tigers fans, I wouldn’t be prepared to say you are going to get a huge present under the Christmas tree in the shape of Jarome Luai just yet,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“However, there is a big chance.
“Benji Marshall, in his ability to woo and sell the dream to Luai.
“At a recent house visit to Benji’s place made by Luai, (a deal) is now starting to gain some traction.
“Let’s not forget the relationship of Api Koroisau and Charlie Staines, (both) former Panthers.
“The Wests Tigers have a board meeting this week and it will give some indication on how much they are willing to go all in for Jarome Luai.
“This will pick up and gain some traction in the next 48 to 72 hours.
“There is an increasing confidence in the Wests Tigers (that they’ll get him).”
The "Tigers fail again" article is presumably already drafted.

As if Riccio would know.
He may find himself our NSW Cup fullback for his experience & voice with Mason likely our JF fullback you would think.Wing is most definitely his best position for us. He's utterly useless at centre, always has been.
He makes decent metres, can finish in the corner and his awful decision making in defence is less exposed out wide.
I was complaining at the time he was extended, there was absolutely no need to extend him for so long so early in his time with us. A few ok performances on the win = 3 year extension. We re-signed a lot of trash in that period of time without players earning the extensions. Naden, Kepaoa, Toa for starters. At least whomever was taking charge of this decisions is no longer with us
Take anything Riccio says with a grain of salt. He said Sullivan was touring Newcastle HQ when he’d already signed with WT.
