I lost a lot of respect for him when we played Newcastle at LO this year. Was having an absolute stinker of a game made an error & instead of owning it faked a cramp then Gamble started sledging him & he made a miraculous recovery to try fight the guy.

For me it was seeing him in the roosters thrashing a couple of years ago, backing away from tackles, running to get his mouth guard with no awareness of the play. He provides a bit of attack but only plays for himself and defends like a backup fullback from the shute shield.

It wouldn’t surprise me if year 1 is $550k tipped in from the Dragons (his salary there) & then decreased year after that.

Who on earth thinks Sullivan is in 550k??

He's achieved nothing and would surely be on no more than 400k as a NSW cup half with potential to kick on in the NRL

I think he is worth it, based on he destroyed Brooks performance when he played 7 Dragons vs Tigers early this year.

I wouldn't believe that for a second. Buzz, wtf would he know.

If we did sign that deal it's up there with the worst in WT history! Very hard to believe we would sign a reserve grader on that much, for that long too. Would be extremely incompetent, even for us!

His realistic current value is about 300k. The WT tax may mean we had to pay more.

It was initially being reported as a 2 year deal, with an option of a third. Then somehow got announced as 4 years. I reckon at least one if not 2 of the years are options.

Good point @hammertime, I know dragons haven’t been much better but also makes sense for a team that has got consecutive wooden spoons to pay overs for any player. Just how it is until the results change 🤷‍♂️

Shortage of halves with NRL experience, increasing salary cap, over the next 2 years with the cap increasing, that money will look like chumps change. Compared to what we were previously paying a perennial underperformer in the same position, its nothing.

The kids 21, some people in here are talking as if he has been in first grade for 10 years and shown no promise or signs of improvement. Scarred, I think.

Yep give the kid a chance , could shock a few in hear , I say he will go well with Sezer and push us up a few spots in 24

Why is it necessary to take sides regarding the amount of the Sullivan deal. Is it a great deal or, is it a modest deal? Who knows?

I make it a matter of policy to believe nothing I read in the rugby league media. They make stuff up. They are more akin to gossip columnists than real journalists and their sources usually have an agenda.

Best to maintain an open mind until there is an official announcement from the club.

Sullivans salary is a function of the halves tax...every club has to pay it because there is not enough talent to go around in that position.

Most clubs will have 4 halves - 2 starters and 2 reserves. Total salary cap on these players is around 2 to 2.5 million - clubs can break that up however they like. Manly have Cherry-Evans and Brooks. Combined, they are on around 1.8 million. Moses and Dillon Brown are on around 2 mill combined. The issue these clubs face is there is a lack of depth if one or both go down injured.

I think we will have the balance right considering salary cap limitations. Even Api can slot into half if need be.

We have around a million locked up in Fainu and Sullivan. Sezer has a few hundred thousand for next year and Doueihi is taking up around 600k. If Luai signs on for 1.1 or 1.2 mill, then that's about right in the scheme of things once Sezer and Doueihi depart.

It would look like this as an estimate.

Luai 1.1 mill
Sullivan 550k
Fainu 500k
Galvin? 200-300k

Performance will dictate whether we persist with these players or the funds can be spent better elsewhere.

Thats fine …we can all do what we please…you want to dismiss it then you do that …

For me,,, when I have a choice between going with whats in the media, or what an anonymous person here reckons,,, I’ll go with whats in the media …
