Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

No only the clubs that hate losing do that and do it well,

To be fair .. the only team that does it ”well” is the Bulldogs ,,,,and not sure it helps them much ..

But the Tigers squad does need a shake up … there are a lot of guys who dont look like NRL players to me …

Ideally I'd love for em to release a bunch early and overhaul the entire backline

AD is walking back into that centre spot.
Centre for the Umina Unicorns Netball team. I think it’s a good move for Adam.
The Unicorns are a little concerned about his knee injuries, but will give him first crack as soon as he’s ready to go.

So far our worst loss has been by 20points.
the Dragons, Titans, Rabbits. Brisbane, Cowboys, Eels , .Knights , and Raiders have lost by greater margins--some multiple times.

So far the Tigers have scored more than 17 points once …

Gotta score more points Don… or they won’t be winning many games

Kit Laulilii played Ron Massey Cup. Can’t really comment on why cause I don’t know. But I’ve never really rated Kit Laulilii much, he is actually deceivingly small, standing a 5”10 or 178cm. He stands at the same height as Soni Luke and Justin Olam just in a larger frame which is hard to see how he could be successful as a lock forward.

I hope he comes good but who knows. Like others I’m really worried about our backs, Lobb doesn’t fill me with too much confidence nor does Declan Casey, though I do see some potential in both, but we both now how “potential” at the Tigers usually goes.

I’ve seen a few comments questioning why we haven’t been seen trying to lure backs but isn’t that a good thing? We aren’t leaking anything to the media and I highly doubt we are just twiddling our thumbs doing nothing. But again I say who really knows cause 99% of stuff on this forum is rightly so, just speculation, just as my comments are.
That poster on Twitter (The Obstructor) today reckons Kit is on the outer at the Tigers. This is the poster last week that chimed in about Onitoni Large's future not being at the Tigers.

💯 if this doesn’t change we finish last again. I know many are of the belief it will magically improve once the current team spend more playing together, I honestly don’t think it does.
I do agree getting Latu Fainu more game time as an extra playmaker will help, but as some have pointed out that will not work if starting him or overloading him with defence as a 13 for long periods.

Club needs to tread carefully. His brother is someone we don't want to lose.

Ink didn’t you question me as to why we we need to sign better players ?
Now you admit we can’t score points and we can’t defend them either.
Mate I don't take things on board and clutch onto them for dear life like you do... But if you think " yiu got me" then good on you

You playing the man and not the ball now because I had a go at yiu about Bula...
Is that it?

The bloke on twitter is losing credibility. Even though he does seem to have some info on juniors, he is just jumping on the fact Kit played Ron Massey on the weekend.

I actually like the move they made to put Kit in Ron Massey for minutes. Having watched a few KOE Cup games this year, I felt he needed minutes in his legs and to be dealing with the physicality against men (not in Flegg). He got to do both on the weekend. Whether it is for 1, 2 or 10 games is up to the club to decide. He will be back in KOE Cup in time. The kid has only just turned 19. He has a bright future ahead at the Tigers in my opinion.

If we had the same management and system as last year, Kit's season would have consisted of SG Ball and maybe a dozen games off the bench in Flegg.

Good to see we are making moves to further develop players in 2024!

I ostracised a fellow forum member the other week. Cannot remember his name. Talking about the new Canterbury player that left Wests. Boy was he right. That player kicked ass yesterday in the pre game game. Whoever you were. I apologize. Great call... he looks the goods.... I hope that forum member reads this and acknowledges this... good call.....

Papali'i was great yesterday & the fans turn on him.

Makes sense.

Someone said Doueihi walks into the side at Centre at the moment- and that's right. It helps that he is the guy most likely to break the line on his own, but it's convenient to forget the strengths to support the generally negative narrative.

Cotric is an upgrade on Staines, simply through his ability to fall forward in a tackle. Quicker play of the ball, more positive metres etc. Staines is trying harder, and regressing in the process.

On the other wing...look to Ryde Eastwood.
Who does Ryde Eastwood play for?

Toa is not average … he is very below average in fact ..: he has never done anything outside of one game … which is in fact a bigger indictment as it shows he has ability but never uses it …

He is part of the problem and not the solution .. get rid of him
Bit of a soft suggestion given you’re not suggesting any alternatives.

I really don't like like how the club has treated Kit thus far, a bit like Matamua last season. These kids need consistent game time at the same level week upon week, then they can build.

He's a small forward, he needs to gradually hone his craft against the bigger bodies instead we've just thrown him into the deep end! Going from SG ball to NSW Cup as a tiny forward is a massive step up. He needs to learn how to use his body in attack and defence, and adjust to the increased speed and strength of his opponents.

IMO he should be our starting lock in Flegg for the next month or two. You're already playing against much bigger and fitter players than in SG Ball, let him adjust to that level first, then up to cup for some games off the bench etc. Playing Ron Massey is pointless other than getting minutes under his belt. If Ron Massey is a supplement for his game time thats ok, but 70 mins in flegg first and then another 40 against men in RM will see him test his abilities.

There is no way on earth he should have played Cup already. Having a threadbare squad is no excuse. Promote Tumeth ahead of him, he's been in the NRL squad a while now. We need to be patient with these players, like with Faagutu gradually building form in flegg and will step up later in the season to Cup. Miller is a big body so if he can adjust to the speed of Cup already and work on his stamina, fitness etc then that's great. If he needs a spell here and there to rip in against flegg players then give him that luxury, he's just a big kid afterall...
