Until 3rd party arrangements are monitored, there's never a level playing field across all cubs re recruitment opportunities and planning.

You also have to factor in potential.
You could go to the Tigers and the like for a million and struggle to win games or you could go to the Storm and the like for 850 and almost certainly play finals - giving you better exposure to rep selectors and potential sponsorships as well as genuine opportunities to win awards and titles.

We never heard about Luai's options until nearly a year later. All players have options.
