Lumping Madge in with that other pair is brutal. He’s actually done plenty in the game.

lol too funny. That they did. Never said they didn’t!!! But they together do not equal Jesus and unfortunately could never turn water to wine. We have had shit cattle last few years. And the spoon was always coming our way and it didn’t matter who coached them. Anyway each to their own. But you my friend do deserve a participation award. Bravo!

You cannot prove that in a lab or look it up in a historical journal. It did not happen and cannot be proven as a fact.
I get we love The Benj (no one more than me), but seriously if you don’t think that a couple of the, (arguably), the best modern day coaches wouldn’t have achieved a different result then you are kidding yourself. Sure with the same roster they may not have won the 2024 GF but to say it is “fact” that the same result would have happened is just ridiculous and totally illogical to me.

Vegas is regarded as the gambling capital of the world. Considering our participation for '26 is still up in the air, perhaps we could have some odds offered on what our real chances are. We could open a book with juicy odds offered over a myriad of exotic betting scenarios. Our very own Forum contributor, 'GNR' is known to tease fellow Forum punters with juicy odds for unlikely team selections. Why not have a crack at this. We could start with the following:

Wests Tigers odds to take the trip to Vegas 2026......3/1
Benji Marshall to still be Coach of Wests Tigers in Vegas 2026......7/2
Justin Matamua to be seated in Business class on the flight to Vegas......15/1

The spoon was always coming our way last off season? That is quite the attempt at revisionist history.
 
Benji gonna be under the blow torch hard this year.

Imagine if we lose 5 of the first 6 games.

There’s no way he can do press conferences and stay confident after having to face soooo many last year as losses and say the same thing.

He’s under the pump hard.

If he starts bad - he’ll be gone by round 11.

And bad is 3 wins from 11.

Wish him all the best but he’s gonna be sweating each week.
 
We were paying $8 for the spoon the other day and I was tempted to make a bet as I think reasonable odds. Drags were favs. I don’t know the odds for the last two seasons but we must have been close to favourite if not it. The bookies know their shit in most cases. No goss sorry - just can wait to sit with the dolphins CEO (a mate knows) for that game early in the year up here in Qld at Kayo stadium.

Agreed re the injuries and top 8 being the goal.

Our players alone should make us a real threat to make the top 8 but the success of this season will fall on Benji and confirm whether he is a first grade standard coach (assuming we get some favour from the injury gods).

This is our best team since 2011, so if Benji cant get them to fire next season, I doubt Richo will be keeping him around for 2026.

I think we'll start okay and do alright overall. I think he'll get through the season with a pass mark. We'll get a few injuries at some point and that's what will decide our season.

Well, like I have been saying.
Depth isn't our problem. We have as fine quality players registered to play 18-30 as we do 1-17!

The problem is other then Api and maybe Bula, our 1-17 is depth in most other teams.

I'm hoping Richo's confidence in Benji is genuine. You wouldn't think he'd stake his reputation on a bum. You're right, this is our best squad for years. Hate to squander the opportunity.
