Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Think we may promote one or two internal guys to top 30 this year like:
- Krystian Mapapalangi
- Izaac Tu’itupou
- Jaxson Rahme
- Elie El-Zakhem
- Kurt Falls

Or alternatively our development guys to top 30 for these guys on a dev contract. Don’t rule out any external talent tho
Richo will at the very least be working overtime to bring in a decent external recruit before June 30 not only for their immediate impact but also for club optics. Hopefully both Taylan May & KPP.

And at least 1 will be an internal promotion to highlight how we progress players from development deals or T&Ts.

I think the most likely would be ...
- Heath Mason *
- Jaxson Rahme
- Elie El Zakhem
- Krystian Mapapalangi
- Tristan Hope *

* Either of those two would mean we could add a player to a development contract for the rest of this year.

If we are serious about Taylan, you bring him in now so he can gel for the rest of the season.

I don't know how we will go for the remainder of 2025, but we definitely need a smooth 2026 without distractions like this Galvin nonsense.
I agree.

Its a bit easisr to bring him in now and help take the edge off recent troubles.

Hes an extremely talented player and will hit rhe ground running.

We are the ideal club for him to exocise his demons and re-join the living.

One player , the dogs have a surplus of backrowers and Iam sure one would rather be playing 1st grade rather nsw cup , and only 17 can win a medal
The point you are missing is the dogs can put players up they are willing to move on, but the player, in that scenario, will go to market and see what offers he can get. Either that, or back themselves to stay and break into the team.

Just because the dogs are willing to swap a player, it doesn't mean the player is willing to go to the Tigers.

are you saying clubs can't just trade players like cattle? Like contracted players have some kind of say
crazy I know

It makes sense on the surface to many, but we have simply released him. After that, the player is free to sign with whoever. Same on the other side, if a player becomes available through a release, then the player can sign anywhere. Just because our guy is going there, it doesn't mean a player has to come back our way.

Honestly, I’d offer the money earmarked for Galvin to Papenhuyzen and let him pick if he wants the 7 or 6 jersey. The guy has a high football IQ and the sort of urgency in his game we can only dream about. And he’s a wonderful goal kicker !
Sign a Tony Carroll type to ride shotgun with him in defence and we’re laughing.

He is better option than anyone else we have if Latu is still injured.

This is the biggest issue we have with letting players go, we just have zero backup option for them & it hurts us badly.
Sadly I agree that Api will need to play half-back at times before season 2025 is completed.

Doueihi can't be in the side for his kicking alone.

He is a bit of a victim of his versatility. He isn't bad, but doesn't stand out in any one position. He has some good games, but also not a superstar of the league. A bit like Tracey at the Dogs. If a player in their position becomes available to sign, they are the first ones that you would upgrade.

Unless he wants to be an in one week, out the next first grader on 300k a year, he needs to pick his position and master it. Gotta do what's right for the team and all, but he might benefit from 2 seasons in England in his preferred position and come back as a specialist after that. The NRL is short of good lock forwards...if I was him I'd bulk up, get much fitter, learn to tackle and make that position my own.
I actually thought that was what we were doing with AD, make him Center... Plonk and stick him there.
Anything but Center, I don't believe we have won a game this year with AD in the side. At Center he helps shut things down...

What is wrong with the NRL these days? I love a playmaking Center! Jamie Lyon, SKD, etc... heck even Lawrence in his day were fun to watch.

Latu's current injury is a broken finger so hopfully its given the hamstring extra pyhsio time and his ready to launch. Fingers crossed.

The official Tigers injury report lists his injury as hamstring…

A few of us are speculating that he must have strained the hamstring again whilst he was at the hospital getting his thumb x-rayed …

Since we was going to be off with a broken thumb anyway they decided to fix his hamstring issues at the same time. The hamstring has taken a bit longer to heal than the thumb.

Not sure how you “fix” a hamstring unless it is strained to begin with ,,,and it’s also harder to predict with as much accuracy when that injury type will be fully healed …
