Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sorry I’m not buying those excuses given the nature of his worst mistakes … experience levels has nothing to do with dropped balls and kicks …

His attitude last year was ordinary and he looked like he was busting his backside to get out of the place … Im sure Richo will remember that now that Topou has found out the grass isn’t any greener
Yeah I be happy to see us give him a miss. His dropped balls are momentum killers and not being missed

Tupou > Feledy, Naden & Fataape.

He needs some belief behind him which I think he'd get with Benji.

Perfect top 30 recruit.
Work on his game and fill in when needed, hopefully can continue to improve and push to be a starter.

He's a very athletic player.
Has his flaws, yeah, but there's a player in there.
I agree with this but I can’t see him taking paycut

He was offered a hugely inflated contract by the Dolphins so clearly someone did rate him.

Ended up being a great move by Benji not to desperately try to keep him here. We landed Skelton who is on at least half the salary but is probably twice as good.
Skelton has been good when available. Hopefully he can put injuries behind him.

Regarding Tupou, why would a player who has been given permission to leave a club because he is stuck in KOE come to another club to be depth and play mainly KOE?

From a club perspective the Dolphins surely are keen to get rid of him due to the size of his contract. I think Kade mentioned he is homesick - he is originally from Canberra i'm pretty sure.

Think for 250-300k he is a good value depth player who would strengthen our cup side. Tupou and Kepoa instead of Feledy and Lobb improved our cup side 10x. Just can't see Dolphins footing enough of the bill.

Would prefer May over Tupou.
But for depth would take Tupou over the others.
But I would want to avoid him. He hasn’t lived up to potential, struggled when given chances and is 23 soon. He also ditched us easily (we offered him a very nice deal from reports) so he didn’t want to be here anyway.
The other thing, Tupou was there for most of our spoons.

Its why I wouldn't be asking for Joe O back either. Whatever we were doing back then was wrong. It was a loosing strategy with loosing effort and failing.

Start with fresh guys. The only person I saw try every game was Api.

It’s a shame we didn’t have Topou when he was a little younger so we could develop him correctly. 😎

No Ex girlfriends.

Helta Skelta rules.
When he’s on the field.
Our ex girlfriends are some of the best in the game

From players to coaching staff / coaches.
We've populated the entire NRL with former employees / "ex girlfriends"

Your welcome NRL.

From Teddy to Papz, Moses, Addo Car, Coaches Ivan / Webster / Payten.

I'd take heaps of em back 😬😆

That's what he's doing at the Titans so why would he do it for less money here ?? They are not going to kick in $200-$300k each year for the next 2 years.

Agreed. Dolphins likely won't foot that much of the bill, but if he wants to return to Sydney maybe he has no choice but to take the haircut. We don't really have any information on who is pushing the exit and for what reasons at the end of the day.

The right price has been mentioned by most supporting Tupou's return.

As for May, the post from Tigers, copied on previous page, is a great analysis.

If Gagai is available, he would be a good short term option. I am unsure as to whether he was at Souths when Richardson was CEO.

I signed up to the broncos forum to see what they had to say
They seem resigned to the fact they will lose staggs or cobbo
Look at the depth of talent, with Ben Te Kura, a 205cm giant, the latest off the production line. The Broncos have always been able in most cases to keep their young players.

Agreed regarding May. I think Richo and Benji have made the same assessment. Gagai would be a solid get for a year or 2.

Tupou ... no no no no no (to use a Gus phrase).

Has too many errors, lack of effort (this is a big no) & body language is passive (we have tooo many of these types). Personally an older Isaac Tui'tupou on a train & trial is just as good. We'd need to pay somewhere close to $400k for Tupou, no bloody way.

Gagai for a season whilst Makasini & Laulilii develop isn't the worse option. Just don't think he'd come here for one season.
