Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think Reynolds stays in Brisbane or goes to England for a couple of years.
I listened to the NRL360 discussion on Broncos Halves Headache - Is re-signing Reynolds the right move?

Anasta's answer - at the right price to me was the best answer. Also suggestions are if he is re-signed it is to a modest contract.

Also when Reynolds was asked about a new contract and WTs, a smile passed across his face.

Wests Tigers have signed Taylan May for the remainder of this season and are heaping pressure on Brisbane to reach a deal for Adam Reynolds as they wait in the wings with a contract for the Broncos playmaker.

The Tigers finalised a train-and-trial contract with May on Tuesday morning as they prepare to unite the former Penrith back with his brother Terrell for at least the remainder of this season.

In the background, the Tigers also remain in the mix for Reynolds as they look to poach the 34-year-old from the Broncos next season.

Brisbane have been locked in talks with Reynolds over a one-year extension but the Tigers have made their interest known and it is understood they have tabled a more lucrative deal as they look to lure him back to Sydney.

It is understood that Reynolds could make a call as early as this week. May, meanwhile, completed a medical at the Tigers on Monday before signing on the dotted line with the club on Tuesday morning.

The Samoan international has been without a club since parting ways with Penrith last year after being charged over domestic violence allegations.

The charges were withdrawn three months ago and May has since spent time in a mental health facility undergoing treatment.

The Tigers had a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old. Chief executive Shane Richardson met May when the charges were first withdrawn, prior to the outside back checking himself in for treatment.

The talks resumed recently after he checked out of the mental health facility. Souths coach Wayne Bennett also showed an interest in May and he was given a tour of the club’s Heffron Park headquarters.

However, the Tigers have won the battle to secure his signature.
Who was the young prop the Tigers have tried with no luck to get out of Brisbane a few years ago?

We need a prop

Paws i thought that Reynolds resigning with Broncos was just Richo looking after a mate.

Not sold on us needing Reynolds in 26, yes for 600k max for 1 year, no for any more than that. Instead maybe get Luai and Latu a kicking coach from the AFL...he can also teach Skelton and Turuva how to take a mark.
Agreed. The guy is busted. I can see this panning out like Matt Ballin. [This word has been automatically removed] that.

Same with Api. Don’t lose TDS to save a guy who may only have two years left and wants to go to Perth.

Where does the talk of Reynolds being busted come from. Played 13 games this year and yes he only played 13 the in 2024 but before that had played over 20 games every year for the past 7 years. If you only have 1 season significantly affected by injury in 9 years that seems durable to me
Bro Matt Ballin I’m pretty sure has the most games consecutively played of all time. As was the case when we signed him. Then, kaput. This guy already has chronic injuries. We got burnt by Olam as well much like Matulino and all the other over the hill guys.

Fark off Reynolds. Plus I would endorse Latu for leaving. Why sit behind this prick.

He had a clear role to play and did a decent job as the link man. Also coming on in the last 20mins when it was obvious Parra had run out of steam is not really anything to hang your hat on. Wait till he has to create or is playing without Critta outside of him. Parra should have thrown more attack down his side yet were starved of the ball and Critta was there to cover in any case. What I found interesting is Sextons comment about being surprised he was told to go to 9, looks like Galvin may have been promised Sextons role even though all the talk has been he is happy to play anywhere, and it sounds like that is what they are selling the team as well which we all know is BS.
Interested to see how often Sexton is told to fill in for Marny. Wonder if hooker is going to be his new role until he goes.

Quick thought…

TDS one year loan deal to English Super League for 2026.

We subsidise so he goes on really good money, gets the game time, has a life experience, comes back in 2027 when API is ready to play off the bench
Could send him to another club in the N.R.L like Harry Grant. Bring him back after one season.

Adam Reynolds and Jarome Luai as a combination just fits perfectly in terms of balance and fit.

Even if it’s for one season…. It’ll be like Aidan Seizer on steroids.

Seems to me the goal is for Latu Fainu to play 13 moving forward which I personally love for him. His tackling and tackle breaking ability, with his ball skills and strong running game makes it a no brainer.

Get Reynolds for 2026…… then throw the cheque book at Luke Metcalf to come back home to Sydney in 2027.
