I respect your opinion matePut it this way, a player such as Lachlan Hubner at the Rabbitohs is similar in size and similar in playing style to Charlie Murray. He has been in their top 17 all season long and been a good contributor in some of their wins.
He probably has better impact than CM, but he does not have the same versatility or ball playing ability.
I don’t know on what planet people are living on expecting every player in any NRL teams top 17 to all be impactful star players.
If you don’t agree, have a good look through every teams top 17 and you will see at least one player in every line up that would not improve our team, but play an important role to plug the gaps off the bench for their team when required.
Tim was selling things like jerseys with proceeds to go to charity but the silly bugger pocketed the money instead and got found out.Refresh my memory, what was the charity rort?
I remember years ago when there was the earthquake in Haiti, a few islander boys were at Ctown for one of our home games walking around taking donations. Hayne was there, and a few others. Also, one Tim Simona who i had a chat too and gave him a donation. I’ve wondered more than once over the years if what I donated ended up in his pocket 🤔Tim was selling things like jerseys with proceeds to go to charity but the silly bugger pocketed the money instead and got found out.
I'm ok with Murray being there. But Heath Mason and Tony Sukkar I'd rather not seeThe fact most aren't seeing this is embarrassing. I agree with all of what you have said.
Murray carried the ball strong for his size the past 2 weeks and doesn't get driven back. He has shown a nice slight of hand with the ball creating some space for others, and makes his tackles. I seriously question those putting shit on him.
Heath Mason is worse than both of themNo according to some people our bench is fine.....
Sukkar and Murray - pathetic.
What about fan care factor? There something fundamentally wrong with allowing a team to rest that many players when the results of each game effect more than them.
“AJ is a talented player who we believe will flourish in the Panthers system, and we have confidence this signing will have a positive impact on both him and our club.” Shane Elford at the time of signing.Asu kepaoa still can't make the Penrith team.
Heard the surgery went ahead but the surgeon stuffed up.“AJ is a talented player who we believe will flourish in the Panthers system, and we have confidence this signing will have a positive impact on both him and our club.” Shane Elford at the time of signing.
Still waiting for the flipper/hand transplant.
Probably at the Tab or in a poker machine.I remember years ago when there was the earthquake in Haiti, a few islander boys were at Ctown for one of our home games walking around taking donations. Why are you swearing at me?I just find it hilarious that you of all people thought the reporter was out of line. You. The voice of reason. Dickhead.
You’d know all about that. Not many people can get down to that level champ your definitely one of a kind.
Why am I not surprised you are making a case for Charlie Murray?Charlie Murray while not being overly big, strong or fast, he’s hard working, a good solid defender who makes nearly all of his tackles and generally has no issue getting back to marker or in the defensive line,
In his limited game time against the Cowboys he also demonstrated he can play as a 1st receiver ball playing style of 13 very comfortable and it actually created more time and soace for Luai and our left edge to function effectively.
In addition to this he can play 9 and his service from dummy half looks decent.
I’m not saying he is anything special, but he looks capable of playing roles that are required off the bench and do them effectively.
For someone outside of our top 30 I think he’s doing well, he will get an opportunity to do a full pre season with us in the lead up to 2026 and has scope to improve quite a bit because of it.
You would like to think Heath Mason being named at 14 could spend some time at 9 giving Api a rest and he offers great utility value to cover for plenty of other positions if required.
He is still only 20 years old, he will also not be considered as part of our best 17 for 2026 at the moment, but he’s known as an extremely hard worker who I’m certain will relish the challenge of improving himself to at least put himself in contention for our top 17 and I think he will relish the opportunity to impress in likely playing positions such as 9 that he has not played previously.
Sukkar is still quite young at age 21, he will have benefited from his NRL experience this seaon and while he has not set the world on fire, he has good size and mobility for a young lad and I am seeing stronger ball carries and steady all round improvement from him. Like the other two he probably will not be considered part of our initial top 17 for 2026, but he now has a good taste of NRL, so it’s up to him to have a strong off season and improve enough to at least put himself in contention.
Royce Hunt is Royce Hunt, he will give us a strong 20mins and it’s up our other 2 bench middles to provide more minutes.
I can’t see us beating the Raiders this weekend, but I can’t be blaming our bench, they are not asking to each play very minimal game time.
Probably ended up on red or blackI remember years ago when there was the earthquake in Haiti, a few islander boys were at Ctown for one of our home games walking around taking donations. I genuinely feel sorry for him.. I remember his debut vs the dragons at the SCG and thought he was going to be a superstar... He lost his flair when we forced him into the #7 role.. maybe he can find it again in the UK, could be a superstar over there.
It’s a great stance. Good on him.
hopefully it’s not about to backfire on himIt’s a great stance. Good on him.
