Insightful post V. One question though - Do you think Terrel as a player with high physicality? I am not sure. At the moment, I think it is more activity than action.
Firstly,Tyrell is playing too many minutes
Secondly.hes coached to offload rather than occasionally bang into the opposition
And thats why he didnt play SOO
Now if some of his buddies took it up hard as well.it takes a bit of pressure off him
But Benji needs to understand effectiveness vs efficiency..plaudits for playing long minutes ,but..

IMO pre season focus should be:

Ruck control/winning wrestle
Support runners in yardage sets
Right side edge defence
Reps with Bula, Luai, Latu and AD in their 2026 positions

Individuals
Latu: general play kicking short and long
AD: playing 13 and bulking up a bit
Makasini: hit the weights
To’a: get healthy and then just focus on defence
Royce and Kit: drop 3-5 kg and have fitness targets to meet
Seyfarth and Bird: find another club
KPP: drop 2-4 kg
Looking at KPP he needs his current weight for his height in my opinion.

Api should not be playing 80mins each week and Haywood is not even close to being ready for NRL just yet.
We have a dilemma as we ideally want both Douehi and Latu in our top 17 which means one of them will start as our number 14.
Latu can no doubt play 9 to allow us to give Api a rest, but he is so good with ball in hand and running the ball it just seems a waste to play him at 9.
Not if he plays 13 and 9 over say 50-60 mins a week

Can someone explain while Bailey Hodges was not given a better run in KOE cup the kid is very good footballer who can lock/hooker is a better prospect than Murray??

The only explanation is they believe he is a bit small as he always plays with high energy and plenty of effort.
As much as I agree that Bailey Hodges does not appear to have been given a fair go, I think Charlie Murray and Josese Lanyon both probably have a bit more upside to their game.

After watching this season I'm putting my 10 cents worth in on how to improve the team.

Lock: Terrell has been playing like he wants to play that position so move him there.

Prop: We are missing say two hard men, so this becomes the priority.

Hooker (back up): Don't think we can afford to get one from outside so train someone from in house over the summer.

Right centre: Beginning to think we have to go to market here Toa is starting to give me the shits, could we move Taylan over he's classy enough to adapt but that would mean Makasini plays left centre it could be too soon to expect him to play all season being so young.

Do we have the cap space, who knows, have the feeling that some more players might be getting tapped on the shoulder though.

Dragons are losing DeBelin and Klemmer is unsigned.
Aloiai is leaving Manly
There's no decent middles on the market, none in our reserves...

I think we're buckleys of getting anyone of note any time in the next 12 months.

Yeah, that's the reality of it, easy to point out but difficult to achieve.

It's looking like another fall out of the tree pick up can lightning strike twice for us, have my doubts we couldn't be that lucky.

Could somebody please tell me why Api has played 80 minutes for the last 5 games of the season in games that mean absolutely nothing?

Do the club expect him to play 80 minutes throughout the whole season next year?

We really need to go the market for a hooker or rush Haywood through to first grade
Koroisau has been our most disappointing player in the last month. Pole has been our worst and should have been in reggies, while Hunt came back in

Lanyon is like Haywood need time to learn and grow lets stop the rushing.

Josese Lanyon is 22y.o next season, it’s not too early for him to step up to NRL if he trains hard enough and earns a spot.
Similarly Charlie Murray will be 25y.o next season, he’s certainly old enough if good enough.

We do..but he's not delivering.
Luai needs to have a good look at himself
Luai is an average player who has bettered his game playing under the best player in the game. Now that he is no longer there. He is just average, or worse... given he has had a worse season than kyle flanagan and many others. Even dean hawkins had more try assists in a few games than luai. But no... culture and standards! If only that applied to the person being credited for it himself

No crappy union on to night?

When Luai has the mindset of playing "through" the opposition he plays much better. This year there was way too much dancing and playing before the opposition. He would be well advised to just play through and play physical. Once he does that he will open up so many opportunities for that potent left side
