Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Difference is this year Canberra had a fit Fogerty next to Strange. Go back to part of last year and Strange was the organiser along with Weekes. I think next year will be interesting. Strange being a right footer will move across and Sanders will control the team from the left. In our case Latu won’t shine unless Luai becomes that organiser we were hoping for.
You don't think latu can become that organising #7? Didn't he play 7 a bit coming through the grades?

No one seems to consider the 900k+ we're paying Hunt and Bird to get bugger all from in the Top 17 week to week.
And now they're free to leave with us carrying the can on them
(Isn't that self admission of getting it wrong?) And he's saying we've got nothing coming? Worrying...
It's more like 550-600k isn't it?

Birds contract was less than half of what he was on at the dragons.. it ended up being between 250-300 at the tigers..
Hunt was around 300k too
Could be wrong they are just the numbers I've seen floated around
Bird was reported to be around 400k per season,
and Hunt about the same or better (I read 600k somewhere - But surely we're not that Stupid)

Minimum wage for top 30 is 120-150 these days,
And you're only allowed a certain amount of players on that (4 maybe)
Everyone else is north of that, and those 2 - were well north of that when we got them.

Bird and Hunt aren't playing for 250k, when the likes of Tumeth etc. are on 120+

Hunt is on a lot more then 300k, that’s why the club is trying to move him on

Not sure I didn’t see him in his juniors, at rep junior level HM, SG he was a running six played 7 a couple times for Workers in Cup. I see he has the straightness of a 7 but lacks the place kicking and strategist of a general.

That will all develop with time though for now we also will have Doueihi at 13 to help

I heard Bird 400K and Hunt I think it was 500K

Perth bears to secure Brisbane Tigers as feeder club , why aren’t we doing this , bloody hell the Brisbane tigers have got plenty cash as well to do stuff with in pathways , gives kids a run in qld cup via them , Richo what are you doing ,
Well, Faataaapaaaey and Charlie Murray are great reserve graders, so yeah, there's that. But all snickerty aside, we have the biggest playground in the entire Sydney area, and I guess that's where the focus is going to be.

And the Elephant in the room for me is his Voice - he is Brooks-like when it comes to being the guy who can call the plays - too quiet!

A lot of discussion about Burton on this forum. We have any number of very good players who would know Burton and be able to advise Marshall and Richardson about him and his value to our team.

No thanks to Burton. Not in a position of need for us and the $$$ he would want would be high. He would have no place in our team. Might look good running around for Wests in NSW Cup.

We have 2 left centres already that are absolute talents in Taylan (who is already a gun at NRL level) and Masi (who is elite for his age and is only going to get better).

In the halves, I am not replacing Luai or Latu with him. AD, Andrews and Madden also on our books gives us plenty of options.

If Burton leaves Dogs, Perth will be calling his name.

Ryan Matterson on his way back to Parra , when he was with us I thought of memory he was very good and money was an issue not his ability , I would see if Parra want to move him on and pay a bit to do so , he is a good lock option and always runs hard and tackles hard , if cheap after Parra tip in I would look at it , leaves AD at 7 and Latu when fit at 14 or reserve grade to learn more as he progresses
