Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bit of talk about Garrick it doesn't enthuse me much 29 next season a lot of outside backs start to lose pace as they get older.

Think that's a prime advantage of having a big junior base to find the next good fast young player or at the very least sign one from another club with potential, you don't want one too old or established and wants 800k, not ideal.

Garrick meh, go after Koula!! May and Koula way a pairing that would be.

Douhei to start at 7 for me and when my bro Latu fit he is number 14.

Love the Bunty addition, you would think he is competing with Seyfarth and Hunt for a bench spot. Keeps Sione on his toes and creates competition.

Adding Mav and Robinson says to Sukkar you need to step up!

Massive offseason ahead, sign one more gun middle and push Twal or Pole back to the bench.

I think Albert Hopate is worth a train and trial as outside back depth cover

Yeah, Garrick is a Reggie and just bcoz you can line a ball up on a tee doesn’t mean you can kick goals.

We are the type of club that would sign him and expect him to play in the back row / utility

I get really peeped off when people keep saying, the kid is only 20 , go back through the history of the nrl and see how many 20 year old players have played 1st grade and done well ,if ur good enough, that’s all u need to
Back row forwards who start as forwards (ie excluding people like Luke Lewis and Wade Graham who initially play in the backs) often get started or start making an impact a bit later.
Liam Martin didn't debut till he was 22.
Briton Nikora was 21.
Viliame Kikau was 21 (and about a fortnight away from turning 22).
Angus Crichton debuted at 20 but only in round 19 and he was 21 before the start of the next season, when he became a regular.

I think it's fair to reserve judgement to some extent on very young forwards, in other words.

Liam Henry, Panthers , to test the market , solid player and only 24 , prop , back row , I know we just signed Bunty but would this kid be worth a look , he worked with my son and apparently genuine good young fella off field as well
He is okay. Discipline issues on the field. Bit of a hothead. Doesn't play many minutes. Not sure where he'd fit in.
