Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Even if we do have money to spend, what are we prepared to offer someone like Payne Hass to even warrant him having a conversation with us ?
Not forgetting Haas has a lot of family commitments in Brisbane and considering the Broncos are rumoured to be willing to pay him as high as 1.3 or 1.4 million per season plus what they can offer him in 3rd party deals, we would need to offer him 2 milllion per season for him but even blink an eyelid and consider our offer.
Champion player, but is he worth 2 million per season to us under the salary cap ?
If we are in the market with the $ for Payne Haas (he would be our most expensive player), then that means we are the funds to sign just about anyone. I wonder if this is just planning if Jarome & Bulla don’t re-sign or if we actually have the $ now for more elite players in 2027 (surely not for 2026).

Ethan Roberts (20yrs old) looks talented but doubt he could do long minutes at 2nd row in 2026. Maverick Geyer (24) and Tony Sukkar (21) would be in the mix. Seyfarth and Sione hopefully won’t be needed on the edge as they are better suited to the middle
I don’t mind Sione on the edge.

If Hunt is fit and we trade Bird for Brown you have a good legit prop rotation plus some coverage. I’m sure Bunty could run on an edge too.

the game seems to be forever edging towards a prototype player based of facts n figures, size doesn't mean a great deal in the spine , but them need child birthing hips

Liam Henry and Lindsay Smith almost identical in weight-105kg, 192cm height, 24-25yrs age and playing style. Workhorse, effort players.
Both available for offers after 1 Nov.
IMO - Lindsay Smith would make a good lock. Seems to be very mobile.
Worth a call.
I’ve already posted we should have a crack at Lindsay, so why not both?

Mmm tacos. 🌮

😢 pain.
Contracted to end 2027..able to negotiate from 11/26,tho you can bet Moses is already shopping him around
Already making noises about maximising returns for his family etc, straight out of Moses playbook
Potential to be a Galvingate and derail us next year
Bula on silmiliar path, and if it wasnt for him I may just swap Godinet out as the entire experience may be more damaging to the brand than any benefit
We can buy Bulas services for an extra year for $900k..more than hes worth..but will buy us time
Doubt whether Richo can work with Moses, and vice versa .regardless of talent,.not sure the kid is worth investing in as Moses will rip him out almost certainly, and with much drama

I get really peeped off when people keep saying, the kid is only 20 , go back through the history of the nrl and see how many 20 year old players have played 1st grade and done well ,if ur good enough, that’s all u need to

I was just speaking to Jack Bird. He said he was given permission to negotiate elsewhere (as we know). Manly were interested but that looks like it’s off. He said he had a few personal issues during this past season which affected him on the field and he got down to 90kg. He said they are now sorted and he’s been training his arse off. He’s now up to 97kg and he looked every bit of it. Looking very fit.
Jack was effective when brought on early in the year and then dropped off, so no wonder if he was wasting kilograms away due to personal stresses.

Hoping that Saukuru with an off-season training as an edge forward can bring something more too, after looking more promising upon being switched from centre to play there halfway through this year.
