Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Freshly married Jack Bird will remain at the Tigers next season. Bird was given permission to talk with rival clubs by the Tigers in August. However the utility has maintained he wanted to remain at the Tigers and finish his contract at the club which expires at the end of next year.

Bird had been mooted as part of a potential player swap with Manly forward Nathan Brown but that has not eventuated.

Bird, 30, played 17 games for the Tigers in his first season at the club this year having joined from St George Illawarra.

I am not shocked as he was less than useful this year,it is always harder to remove a dud than sign hin which is something we never seem to understand.

No....while we cant predict the future this young fella has a wise head on his shoulders and i think he could.go far
Yeah, nah! Any one that has that slime bag as a manager we should steer clear of or get rid of. It’s just not worth it, he obviously is only using the club to get his players exposure. Then sends them to a ‘better’ club! Don't need the tea leaves to work that out!

if i was a present day player , i would sure as engage moses/the devil to conduct proceedings ,
The end of the day ,its up to the player
A cap takes a lot of juggling
Takes some time for an ego to occasionally live up to its pay packet

They asked Bird to move on about three quarters of the way through the season …yet there he is obviously unwanted anywhere else and back here next year to wander the NSW Cup on $400k…. How many times does that happen at this club when others clubs get players to move on at the drop of a hat …? Just another of the NRL mysteries ,,,
