Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I agree , I’ve been a big advocate for Wests tigers - MacArthur and Wests tigers- Balmain .
People laughed at me but the visual reinforcement the kids get at panthers training of looking over at the nrl training fields and saying “one day” is just clever manipulation.
We can’t do that because of geography, but having clear links , almost a graduation from the academy at wests Sydney uni to the nrl team in concord , at the very least should be implemented.
Constant engagement in the community re. The schools should be annoyed the tigers are there again , rather than begging us to turn up , a winning football team in the nrl is pretty obvious and IMO a partnership with the MacArthur Bulls . Both clubs should run joint clinics . Little Johnny might come from an ethnic family who only ever thought about football . He turns up to a clinic , gets and footy under his arm … and he’s away . And likewise . Maybe little Timmy is from a legacy nrl family , and goes to a clinic and finds kicking the round ball is his thing .
The real threat to juniors isn’t organised sport it’s kids not seeing the benefit in doing any of it. By combining resources between 2 clubs who really arnt at all in competition with each other , should also output a strong message . MacArthur is Bulls . MacArthur is tigers.
That’s at least where I’d start . Strong connective tissue and links to the nrl team through probably a graduation , and stronger links to other organisations to help out roots into the community , outside of the work already being done re. Schools, clinics, advertising etc.
But it is tough , that area is historically transient . It’s the same issues the GC have had since the late 80s. How do you engage a community who views where they live as either a holiday , or some place to escape . Not a place to put down roots .
There where plan's years ago to have a spot on C91.3 which is the Campbelltown Fm it started then stopped. The club needs to get back to the grass roots again. There was a clinic a couple weeks ago that Latu, Kit, and a couple of others and the players got swamped and the kids loved it.

Yeah I heard him talk about it on Triple M with Beau Ryan saying he wished he didn't leave, or words to that effect.
Woods played his best footy at the Tigers, was a regular in origin and when he left it all turned to shit.

I recall an interview after he was shafted from the dogs saying if Ivan had got there sooner, he might have thought differently.

Do you think anyone could track his playing career after he left us?
Lost track of it all the places Woodsy has been since he left us, but forget about the gig on Triple M, he could be an Australia Post Ambassador with all the post codes he would have tattooed on his butt.

I guess it is what it is.
