To'a was just solid for 55 minutes. Then limped out of an innocuous tackle (fvoot/ankle), played on for 10 mins without getting too involved and was replaced.

The incident Im referring to is well known between Fenech and Elias and I first heard about it 40 years ago …( and several times since) you are likely referring to a separate incident ( or maybe Johnstone even said similar) …its not like Fenech only had one blue during his career.. he was an absolute lunatic on the field and always punching on when he played at Souths

I’d always heard Benny did that… I think Fenechs brother was called Joe… I remember a headline ‘I’ll play a test for my brother Joe” about Mario wanting to dedicate a rep game to his brother … although I worshipped Benny and the Tigers pack at the time , Pearce, block , SIRO , McGuire , brooks and Helmsley/Edmed I remember thinking the zzz zzz 💤 to Mario going into the scrum was a bit much …. A relative dying a tragic death was beyond sledging ,, even as a kid I thought Mario didn’t need that to be used against him in a footy game… they really hated each other apparently so I guess I had no idea what was out of bounds between the 2… 🤷
