I think you’re right. Riccio reporting it as us “freeing up cash” rather than picking up someone new

Seems a bit early to start giving up on the season and shed our depth players.

This hasn’t worked out well in the past. Last year I remember us losing Api the week after letting TDS go.

The other week when I posted that my mate said LL was off before June 30 well he is off but not to Melbourne...

Melbourne wanted him but looks like off to the Warriors LL was going to be traded for a forward I am not seeing my mate this week so I won't get any more gossip

Seems quite peculiar letting Luke go early. Makes very little sense, unless there is a swap deal organised with the Wahs.

They are deadset on not releasing players without compensation, so I am not sure why we would be any different with them.

Perhaps we may have signed DWZ mid-season?

Makes sense with Warriors signing Walbrick for 27' and their current stocks.

Maybe they see it as a cap benefit, freeing up some space, and Luke covering depth in the interim?

I don’t think Junior Tupou was as bad as some of seem to think he was when playing for us.
I thought he had some good games and showed plenty of promise as a young up and comer with decent height, size and speed.
But he has regressed as a player since he left us and has not even been a stand out playing NSW Cup for the Roosters this season and that is a big concern.
Benji obviously does not value speed as I’m certain Luke Laulilli would be the 2nd quickest amongst our current NRL squad and it would then be Turuva and a long distance to our 4th quickest.
