Not a bad call re Sloan if he would take $200-$250k max but he’ll probably go to ESL and win Man of Steel.

There is the will and there is the way.

I don't know if Shulster has the will and realises his NRL ends here. No one will take him after Benji if he keeps failing.

Even if he does realise this, there is the way. I very much want to do and learn a lot of things. Instead I waste my time saying crap here.

Manly paid way too much to a developing player.

He has the talent, and the potential is there. I feel that Benji can ignite the will.

Agreed, the fans on this forum fickle superficial morons at times.. makasini is an 18 yo rookie, injured, in the wet being run down by dom young and ponga ,,, when tired etc with the ball.. give him a damn break,, when he strikes form you’ll be screaming that he will leave us and demand loyalty.. how about showing some for once , he is playing nrl against origin centres and internationals all season and still turning up and making ground and breaks.. I’ll take maka any day of thr week,, the kid is all class

Sloan would be great IF we had a fullback such as Dylan Edwards who contributes well with the yardage out of our own danger zone.
Unfortunately we don’t have that, so it would be a yardage disaster if we had Bula, Averillo and Slloan all in our team.
It’s a big concern as we once again have our balance all wrong with fielding a backline that should ideally have a balance of speed, size, power, skill, aerial ability and aggressive defence.

I don't agree with what you have written but respect that you have taken the time to explain your position. A player like Sloan is different, just as JAC and Koroibete were at the WTs. He needs a coach like Marshall to get the best from him. Hopefully Marshall values the attributes he brings to a team. Defence can be taught, whereas blinding pace is a gift.

I like Sloan as a player, he has shown the ability to score plenty of long range tries and done it against the best of opposition.
I’m just saying his weakness aside from his defence os his yardage carries are not very effective. When we already have Bula who’s yardage carries are powder puff and the incoming Jake Averillo who I really like as a player, but his yardage carries are not one of his strong points either, that would mean a potential combination of all 3 of them would add plenty of speed and have the ability tj score long range tries, but would leave only 2 other outside backs to carry the burden of effective yardage carries.
I think only having 2 of your back 5 that can be effective with the yardage carries is too much of an ask and therefore I think the way the game is played at the moment you need at least 3 of your back 5 who are very effective with the yardage carries.
