Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

AD went through a period before he was injured where he was making some good decisions in defense, especially rushing in at the right times. However I think his improved defense was down to the incredible job KPP was doing locking up that right side, AD just had to stay in a defined lane and do a job. Now that KPP is out injured the defense has collapsed and AD is exposed.
As some have said he may be “protecting “ his shoulder at the moment but that really is no excuse because he has always tended to protect his shoulders and not put his body behind a tackle and rarely leaves his feet.. if he is injured then don’t play, get the operation and let latu and Andrews have a run .. douhei was playing really well earlier in the season but man when he decides to not try hard he really looks terrible .. his body langauage and everything looks horrible

By your own analogy - how many clubs in the comp is he starting 13 at?

And how’s their season looking?

I didn’t say he would be starting prop at any other club - but for this club, the only one I care about…
he’d do a better job at prop.
And for our team we need a better lock.
I love a bloke that hates missing tackles but we need another hungry prop and a more dynamic lock so Twal can be the workhorse he is and bollard can go back to the bench prop that he is. We been needing a 10 & 13 since this time last year. That’s what I’m buying if we have any cash leftover after the Fainu boys.
But we will probably collect another 6.

Wasn’t he ceo for a while?
See @Halbrowne61 reply above.

When I lived in Sydney I rarely missed any games, whether CSS, LO, or Aussie Stadium (whatever it's called now).

Luckily, I'm neither old WSM or BT, and maybe that is the difference. My only attachment is to Wests Tigers, and I do not care where the previous teams used to play.

I want 1 home ground that is a fortress, I want my team to wear its home jersey at home, so the supporters can make it a fortress by wearing the same jersey as the players, and I want a united supporter base, all cheering for Wests Tigers. I want all lower grades under the Wests Tigers name, playing at the one home ground before or after NRL. I want the NRLW and lower grades all playing under the WT name at the one home ground.

I guess I want 1 united team in NRLW and NRL and all lower grades. Sadly, that will never happen under the current ownership team. And I truly believe that is a big part of why WT is not competitive and cannot build a strong team in NRL.

NRLW doesn't seem to have the same issues, but they are simply WT. Not split between two defunct teams.
I grew up supporting one of our former teams and I want the same as you SQ.

Humphries would be a great buy with a full pre season as a 13. Little bit of Cam Murray about him. Definitely something we don’t have, some speed in the forwards and ability to find their front.

He wouldn’t command top dollar either.

Get it done Benji!

I think we need to stop looking externally for mid players

With the correct approach, we have internal talent that can get us to where we want to be.

Jahream Bula
Jake Averillo
Adam Doueihi
Samuela Fainu
Api Korisau
Terrell May
KPP
Sunia Turuva
Alex Twal
Taylan May

If we can't get the best of out them playing together, then we are no chance no matter who we sign

Add to that potential talent like Attard, L Fainu, Andrews, Haywood, etc.

Our problem, for the first time in a long time, is not the playing roster. We just need to get the best out of them and build depth in the team with players earning depth money but are hungry to prove a point

He's clearly worried.about his shoulder..before he hurt it he was defending great. He shouldn't play again this year..get the opp done asap
Yep any player who has injury and needs surgery needs to be pulled out and surgery done so we can start next year 100% fit , this playing busted players is ridiculous, only make stuff worse , get them sorted or suffer again next year ,

yes, I'm a bit unsure about Humphries, he is one of those players that can do a job in multiple positions and not really be elite at any particular position (yet). I do agree that he reads similar to AD so I'm not sure what you do with both of them in the same team.
I'm liking the idea of Jamie Humphries just remembering it was just a suggestion floated.

His strong defence & effort plays could translate into a #13 if he was up for it. Plus he'd be the ideal #14 at the start to cover lock, dummy half & halves, with that Kurt Mann type energy when he comes on. Plus an alternative long kicking game.

He has defensive mindset which we lack.

That is a very lacklustre list of players.
It’s really only a fit and healthy Samuela Fainu and Taylan May who have any wow factor about them and to a lesser extent Adam Doueihi.
Not forgetting Api will be turning 34y.o later this year, so it will not get any easier for him competing with bigger, stronger and faster opponents in the middle of the field.
Too many of our supporters seem to think we have a couple of superstar players when the truth is we do not have any that are even close to being superstar players and that is the reason we only get decent results when all players 1-17 are of a good NRL standard.
For this exact reason we need to ensure we have very good depth to allow us to being in players of an equal or better standard in certain positions when we get injuries and we are currently not able to do that.

Bulldog’s Bite: Tigers, Eels and Bulldogs are failing western Sydney with dismal 2026 campaigns

The Tigers are a mess, the Bulldogs are no threat and the Eels have become a transit lounge. West is no longer the best with three once-powerful clubs bumbling along to inevitable failure, writes Dean Ritchie.

Parramatta’s interest in Luai continues a worrying trend for the Eels. If Luai signs, it would only be for one-year before he jets off to Port Moresby.

Luai could follow Jonah Pezet in signing a one-year pit-stop deal with the Eels.
The Eels signed Jonah Pezet for just one season before he shifts to Brisbane and Zac Lomax lasted only one year at the club, despite signing a four-season contract.
Parramatta must start instilling a long-term belief in their club because quick fixes don’t necessarily work in rugby league. At the moment they are a Band-Aid club.

The Eels are becoming a transit lounge for players who have a year to fill before joining a rival. Let’s be honest, it’s another season of failure for a once-dominant rugby league club. Yes, the Eels have endured injuries but the days of fans copping that as an excuse are well and truly over. Strong clubs overcome injuries.

The Bulldogs have won seven games this season and won’t make a splash in the finals, if they qualify. This was a side which reached the top four last year and promised so much this season. What’s that old saying: Promise the world, deliver an atlas.

Only mighty Penrith is saving western Sydney from rugby league embarrassment.
Canterbury is just staying relevant on the competition ladder while the Eels and Tigers are scrapping around like old has-beens.
Remember when west was best?
Not anymore.

Averillo ✅
#15 Shawn Blore 🔥
#13 Jamie Humphries 🔥
T&T Manase Fainu ❓️

I know there's the doubters, but that's exciting.

And who knows how Schuuster can fit in.

Some depth signings and we're surely on the incline.

Is there really anything of substance suggesting Humphreys is coming here ? Seems a little wishful thinking ….

Maybe Blore is a slightly better hope at least … he would be a good add for us as the #3 edge..instead of relying on Seyfarth , Sione or Sukkar

not sure how long api is signed for , but if 2027 and 2028 would not suprise me we ask him to bail out end of 27 , we have 2 replacements in Haywood and Lanyon both be full ready by 2028 and play some of 2027 , Luai could just be the starter for clean outs

I am a total WT tragic like everyone else one on here----------But if we aim to get to the finals, we must aim higher---------not steady as she goes with mediocracy [does a reasonable job].
Happy to miss the finals year on year, good. Seyfarth, Twal in the FR will get us there.
Our FR stocks are spoon capable ATM.
