Good points @tiges69 . Saukuru is strong & powerful in space and has some footwork at the line. In yardage carries, he does tend to not fully charge & has an annoying little skip before contact which makes it a bit easier for defenders imo.If I was making a summation of Saukauru, it would be that he probably lacks that natural aggression that makes a footballer with the ability that Solomone has into a top liner. Courtesy of Bar Tv I have been watching big Solo since Flegg last year and most of his appearances in cup this year. Has had some very good performances this year and has probably deserved a chance in the top grade. I was watching state cup a few games back and Wests were well on top and a couple times he had early ball and I’m thinking he will just steam roll his opposite only to be tackled simply by a low tackle from a smaller guy.He scored a couple of good tries in that game so he wasn’t bad , but I think he needs to develop that killer instinct that makes a footballer of his size and power somebody no one likes playing against. Having said that I’m disappointed that he is being shown the door as I think there is plenty to work with.
@Demps I think the defensive thing is overblown a bit. He does tend to use his arms too much in lateral contact but is very strong generally in contact.
Would be a waste of 6 years of development to let him go. Surely a minimum $145k contract as a 29th/30th player is fair.
