Stop Drinking TomTristan Hope ?
to be fair Hope is not a first grader and can be classed as a trier and a nice bloke. To be honest Tristan Hope was never a big standout during many years playing Qld Cup prior to joining us.
He was always solid, never known standout.
Once joining us I thought he was very good in our badly underperforming NSW Cup team in 2024, thoroughly deserved his NRL debut and o think he was unfairly criticised by our fans for his couple of games for our NRL team earlier this season. He played in teams badly depleted by injuries and everyone was trying tj name out Api would have made a difference. Api is now showing he cannot make a difference when the team around him is being outplayed either.
This being said I think he is roughly 28 years old and I do think it’s time tj move on from him. Although not perfect I think Jayden Brailey is a solid signing as he has very slick service from dummy half, defends quite well with a very good work ethic, has reasonable creativity and a reasonable running game when opportunity present themself. Jared Haywood is ready for NRL from an attacking point of view, but he needs a bit more time to stiffen up his defence, particularly when his team is under the pump.
Agreedto be fair Hope is not a first grader and can be classed as a trier and a nice bloke.
We need to move on from this type.
Who called him a pre season superstar? He certainly didn’t.How would you describe his efforts this year bro ?
He was a pre season “superstar” that opposition teams decided to make an example of early in the season and unfortunately smashed him into oblivion … physically and confidence wise …he hasn’t recovered so far this season and is in NSW Cup this week I believe
I’m not a warrior … I’m a tiger ..Who called him a pre season superstar? He certainly didn’t.
He’s a kid finding his way in his first season of NRL in a struggling club and with keyboard warriors like yourself calling him “damaged goods” I can see why some players struggle with mental health. Hopefully he doesn’t read this trash.
An out and out lock who's only starts this year came at hooker??He's and out and out lock. Pound for pound he has been the strongest guy in the comp for a long time. I have wanted him in Tigers colours for 10 years. Trust us to finally get him when he will be 36 lol.
Instead of looking at a piece of paper ill just stick with judging what im seeing currently. You should probably check out his credentials before you make assumptions.
An out and out lock who's only starts this year came at hooker??
We already have Brailey as a hooker lock. Don't really need another. As a minimum wage squaddie maybe, but in the end we're getting players well and truly after their best when they're on their last legs. It's embarrassing
Another small forward who tackles at 90
Meh...
There is a massive shortage of good quality 13’s and an even bigger shortage if wanting the 13 to be a competent slick 1st receiver. An out and out lock who's only starts this year came at hooker??

We should be looking for a 30 year old version of Mann. Someone who's still got something to offer in the legs. There is a massive shortage of good quality 13’s and an even bigger shortage if wanting the 13 to be a competent slick 1st receiver.
Panthers have gone from attacking geniuses to dunces without Yeo.
The Rabbitohs attack looks much more clunky without Murray, but they also have Tallis Duncan who is a quality 13 if/when required.
The Eels have looked so much better each time Dylan Walker has been on the field playing 13 over the past couple of seasons, but age now appears to have caught up with him. In saying this he is a couple of years younger than Kurt Mann, so not sure why we didn’t make a play at Dylan Walker if we are seriously considering a 35 year old Mann?
Pat Carrigan has slowed down considerably and now looking more like a dour prop, rather than a slick ball distributing 13 who used to help set the Broncos attack alight.
When Jaeman Salmon plays well at 13, the Bulkdogs attack looks much better.
Reuben Cotter playing well at 13 is instrumental in the Cowboys playing well and scoring points.
Erin Clarke carrying the ball at speed as a 1st receiver with the ability to play slick passes to his halves is the catalyst of the Warriors success this season.
Victor Radley is a fluent 1st receiver and his slick ball playing option is crucial to the Roosters success.
The Dolphins are regularly set alight with the slick and fluent 1st receiver ball playing style of Max Plath or Kurt Donoghue.
Cameron McInness being an ex hooker does a good job of being a 1st receiver 13 at the Sharks.
Matt Croker although bigger and probably a bit slower than most of the others I have mentioned above, at least carries the ball at speed and commits a few defenders before playing out the back to his halves at the Knights.
Alex Twal done a very good job for us in this role early in the season, but he is not a genuine running threat and I think we need him back in the prop rotation with someone, or a combination of players with more attacking flair as our 13.
** When you look at how important a fluent 1st receiver ball playing 13 is and look at the shortage of players that fit this description, maybe taking a risk on the ageing Kurt Mann for 12 months is not a bad option.
** Surely Jayden Brailey has been recruited tj share the 9 role with Api and allow a slow and methodical transition of Jared Haywood into more regular NRG game time.
He's 28 next year...kid?Who called him a pre season superstar? He certainly didn’t.

We’re talking about Makasini.He's 28 next year...kid?

We were in panic mode for Bula as well.I reckon ya gunna need more than jousting sticks to wake him up. At the moment he is killing it in a bottom team and has an over inflated vision of where he is at, he has no pressure coming at him. In a better squad with at least 3 NRL srf’s then he’s probably a little more humble.
But for us we haven’t had more than 1 srf at the club in a decade so we’re probably in panic mode to keep him bcoz those five games have shown us what we been missing.
Ah...I thought you were talking about Hope. Sincerest apologiesWe’re talking about Makasini.
Players age faster at WT but I don’t expect him to age 9 years next year.
I though we already have a 13 whos a slick first reciever. Mr A DouehiThere is a massive shortage of good quality 13’s and an even bigger shortage if wanting the 13 to be a competent slick 1st receiver.

Not according to him, he's the world's greatest half, it's imprinted on his brain I would love it if he's given the ultimatum lock next season or bugger off.I though we already have a 13 whos a slick first reciever. Mr A Douehi
I agree, but I cannot see anyone who fits that description? We should be looking for a 30 year old version of Mann. Someone who's still got something to offer in the legs.
We need t convince him how much better the team can be if he plays 13 and plays it well.I though we already have a 13 whos a slick first reciever. Mr A Douehi
