Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Surely a good kicking coach can teach them to time the kick to get more distance?
Pat Richards has been around the team on and off for a long time, not sure if he's been able to teach anyone too much when it comes to the art of kicking.

I suppose that at the same time you could say that Brett Hodgson hasn't been able to pass on too many full back skills either.

Yeah, I know I'm probably being a bit harsh as usual.

valid points though.....

Is it just me, or have others noticed that several tries that we scored, the players going over to score made no effort to put the ball down closer to the posts, in particular, one that stood out was Sol's try, he had so much space and time to put the ball down much closer to the posts, and thereby giving our kicker a much simpler chance of conversion, instead he just ran straight with no intent of making things simpler for the kicker.
You can tell Appi has smarts, when he went over for his try, he intentionally ran several meters towards the posts to put the ball down, even Gus noticed this and made comment. Surely the coaching staff would be all over this as it can mean the difference between winning and losing with those extra two points.

Nofoaluma made a career out of it,
Not running 1 more metre that he had to.

As I said above,
WT's complacency is next level!!

Not sure what the issue was..either we were so elated to score against the premiership favourites..or we just don't have a lot of smarts ..?
Or maybe a bit of both

Was just Solo really but it was his second game he’ll learn. Jeral had no room

Not just you. Sukkar literally swan diving away from the posts and then Jock misses what should have been an unmissable kick. Footy IQ basics, they are inexperienced players but it’s just unprofessional. Lucky escape in the end.

I don’t think they really gave a shit. It was more about scoring tries rather than being tactical.

Considering we’d missed the 2 conversions out wide before Solo’s try, yes it was slack of him not trying to improve the position when he had time. Either that or he was just happy to get the ball down for 4 points and not risk any possible stuff ups trying to get closer to the posts.

Man solo can score tries & I'm sure bunji and the boys will be telling him to improve his scoring positions in the future he's still young and is still learning plus
it's only his second nrl game
We also need good backup goalkickers
Jake averillo has like an 80% success rate kicking from his bulldogs days & can be a good backup kicker

I can see we probably spent some of Luai money on the mays and a few other who have signed on plus have a bit stashed for SamF but when you loose a top rank player like Luai , no matter what some of us think , it’s the players who notice , Penrith for example , if clearly left end of this year those blokes know that has left a big hole in them team wise , we need to buy top quality players x 2 and then add workers like Mann for example , Alverillo is good as he is a centre and experienced , a spot we needed to fix , May / Alverillo works for me but we still need a couple guns plus Sam to pull his finger out , his manager can organise his signing behind the scenes no issue , there is more to this one I feel , hope we have back up plans if he decides to go ,PNG money is hard to compete with , I heard Joey ex rooster signed on at $ 750 k he gets all of it , that’s probably at tigers or other $ 1.2- 1.3 million there is one major problem all clubs face , PNG can just hand pick , I think Hudson young goes there as well , back up plan need to be in place big time , but quality must be part of the plan , not old has been , or last 2 years prior to retirement , we need mid age quality

Just one of many examples of the lack of attention to detail this club has been about for years.
