Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He’s 6 ft and 84 kg, and he’s only 24, so he’ll probably fill out a bit more.

However, the NRL has changed. It’s about speed and smarts, not just brute strength. We’ll see leaner, faster and much more athletic backs in the coming years.

You just have to look at the amazing season Keano Kini had this year. He’s 5'8" and 82 kg.
Yeah but Keano Kini has elite evasion in the mould of Matt Bowen, Paps, Fa'alogo.

One horrible game and they were knocked out of the finals. Drinky was fully fit. Bula has been injured all season (except the start when he was in fine form).

I wonder if you'd be so kind to bula if he was soley responsible for us being knocked out of finals?

You get upset if someone brings up richo and say they are "living in the past" but here you are talking about Herbie who signed for the Dolphins in 2023.. stay on topic.

Drinkwater is a liability a club like us dont need. His flaws would be exposed 10 fold here.
Let’s hope you are correct as it will not be good if we finish behind the Dragons in 2027

Maybe they are & doing this as well to cast the net as wide as possible and for transparency. I don’t mind this approach. Most high performance sports in Australia do this except most clubs in NRL & AFL.
And Perth Bears, Souths, Dragons, Dogs all have various roles up on the site. My guess is that its a requirement of a professional organisations approach. In corporate jobs I will often know who I am going to hire but am still required to advertise for a certain amount of time for transparency. Id imagine this would be the same

No one was talking about bula and $1m in 2023
What about when I was suggesting Herbie Farnworth as our million dollar player a couple of years back instead of focusing on Bula as our marquee player,
Was you one of the many who tried to argue that spending 1 million on Bula instead of head hunting a player like Farnworth who was earning nowhere near 1 million per season for the Broncos back then.
If only we listened to you back in 2023 when no one whatsoever mentioned Bula and $1m in his first year while we were collecting spoons...and no one was talking about Herbie ar brisbane
You re-writing history hmmm? 🤔

Yes we need depth and we need a solution to the halves but for mine, go all out for Leota to have a solid, big motored, partner for May. I think this would give us a huge forward platform with KPP and Samuela. But we seem to be going in other directions

You were one of the many who thought Luai was the equal of Nathan Cleary and Bula was a superstar in the making.
Bad decision making on recruitment and retention is our biggest downfall, but there are some signs that Benji is starting to see the light.

Gallant would not be head of recruitment at any other club

Lots of people were talking about Herbie at Broncs. He was a gun there.
Were also talking about him wanting to play Fullback.
He signed an extension at the Broncos on the promise he'd get the off season to take the Fullback Jersey.

It didn't eventuate and he left, if he left because he didn't get a shot at #1, I don't know.

Talk is he'll take Tedescos Jumper, He'd be lethal there - I'm a big fan.
Total Pro.

Not many about that know SW Sydney as well as Gallant.
Weather he's liked or not, I don't know - He give plenty of lip while playing out there.
But he's got the lay of the Land.

I can't think of anyone he's missed outside the Clarke boys
- Even then, We didn't really miss them - They were with Wests.

What he shouldn't be, Is the only bloke in the gig...
Most (if not all) Clubs would have at least 3-4 Staff in Pathways Recruitment.

Should also not solely focus on SW Sydney.

It’s his specialty. @Vicious is a habitual liar and thinks his time being the water boy in his 30s for an under 7s team makes him more qualified than anyone else on here

He loves to shit all over Bula but then cries and runs to mods if you point out that Heath Mason is a smear on the underpants of rugby league.
