Not too bad, way better bench. This year we had some shocking benches. The biggest question mark for me is halves. I still don’t know how we get on with Douehi at 7 after his theatrics.
Looks solid.

I'd have Friz off the bench for Pole after 20, and Hunt for May after 30.
I'd also start Twal in lock for 20/25 mins then replace with Mann and Twal goes into the prop rotation. Friz then available for second-row if needed.
And Brailey in for Api with 30/20 mins to go, depending on scoreboard.

I think attack was more the issue. In the modern sport 24 points is about the number you should consistently aim to keep teams under but also score over.

We kept teams to 24 or less 14 times which is better then Souths and Cowboys and only just behind Knights and Sharks

Where as we only scored 24 or more 6 times with only the Dragons 5 times being worse and most clubs especially finals clubs being much better (the 4 clubs above who finished 5th-8th) all did it between 13-16 times each.

Yes we were flogged a few times when injuries destroyed us but those weren't the games that determined us making the finals imo.

Also you get your attack right and you need to do less in defence.

Can’t believe they aren’t making changes in the attack coaching it’s seriously needed

I’m telling you for the unteenth time that the roster we had for 2026 did not have the right amount of speed, tackle break ability or attacking flair to worry our opponents icoming out of our own half, particularly once we had a few injuries.
Onbviously Benji agrees that lack of speed and attacking ability out wide is a problem with the signing of Averillo who is not a great defender, but a very good attacking player.
Averillo is a handy nrl player,
Let’s not kid ourselves he is no superstar.
It says more about our lack of quality outside backs that he is receiving so much praise by some on here.

My 2c on the attack vs defence argument.

Both are crap, however my theory is our rubbish defence puts pressure on our attack. They have no confidence they can defend back to back sets, so they play very conservative in attack so we dont make errors.

Champion @TurnStyle - we'll be thinking of Royce's Leichhardt try for a long long time .....
The most underrated part of try was the work from Twal.

It was the absolute peak of our season.... could go as far as saying it was the peak of the last 15 years. I hadnt felt vibes like that since 2005.

Then Luai went to PNG
Api got suspended.
Douhei got injured.

All downhill from there..
