Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ignoring the fact they're both Lebs, Sukkar comes very much from the Twal mould in that they're reliable, high work rate and work ethic players who do little wrong but don't wow you either. He's not a Fainu or KPP, but not a bad player either.

There's no harm in having guys like Sukkar in the squad who offer you a decent enough floor when filling in while retaining some development upside.

With the signings of Brailey, Mann on top of the likes Haywood and Lanyon, Murray and heath have no pace in our top 30. Their roles have already been filled by better players. We don't need 6 backup hookers/small locks in our top 30. We already filled those spots, so that simply means Murray had to be train and trial or just back to Qld.
Mason has never played a minute at hooker, he needs a lot of time to develop and we can't waste a year or two in the top 30 while he figures out if he can play in the forwards. Train and trial or send him to UK to develop.

Sukkar is not a second rower, so we shouldn't be signing him as our backup second rower. He's a prop, doesn't have the agility or impact to play out wide. I'd have Roberts as a better young prop than Tony. Let him go to the UK for a year or two and develop there and if he kicks on then sign him.

Given our extreme lack of depth in second row across all grades we need to bring in someone who might have the skills to contribute in the NRL. Seyfarth and Sukkar don't cut it.

The simple fact is no other club would have these 3 in their top 30s. No one has come knocking for them, they don't have options. I do rate Mason as a utility, I've used days he has a hint of Connor Watson, but he's got a long way to go
I don't know much about his junior days but Roberts strikes me as more of a middle too...

Would love some more mobile, skillful backrowers at the club. Godinet still has a long way to go.

It beggars belief they are so under pressure cap wise. They must’ve royally screwed up the contracts for Turbo, Koula & Haumole because the rest of their roster is full of pretty average players, especially when you compare their team to the Roosters or even St George now the way they’re shaping up for next season.

Garrick is already gone and I don’t know if they’ve even brought in anyone of note for next season. Sounds like they’re paying overs for too many average players and putting a lot of stock into unproven juniors. We certainly know what that’s like!
Not of note, but Starford has gone to Manly

No doubt that there are a few bigoted racists, but it's not a "Lebs" thing as the vast majority praise Twal and did similarly so with the improved 2025 version of Doueihi, plus most wanted Sukkar retained on reasonable dollars.

As for the many bagging Adam for being a detrimental ball hog in the halves, then dogging the coach, teammates and supporters for a second time when told he was being moved, for mine too many still back him.
What do you make of Doueihi being out and about with Harry Triguboff?

Do you think Harry is a fan boy or it that since Pascoe is no longer around that it's Doueihi's job to deliver the merch to Harry?

We've had great value from KPP and Fainu who I would call middle range buys. We've been successful in identifying these players so we should repeat what works.
