Yes he did but i still wouldnt want him his attitude is all wrong

Like him or not, Hayne is a class player and a genuine "marquee" who can attract/retain sponsorship and put plenty of bums on seats. Won't be cheap but we should definitely have a go at signing him for at least the next season or two. Probably no more costly than Tedesco would have been. Played a great game tonight and one of the reasons for the Titans trouncing the Sharks.

Hayne had a blinder tonight

Tyrone Roberts played 5/8th, Elgey was dropped, and he played good again, he would be a realistic 6 for us.

Hayne and Tyrone played really well tonight both off contract next year. Saw Tyrone swap positions with Hayne a few times while on defense, appear to play well together.

I thought that too but then we're struggling badly and really need someone for the kids to get excited about. Also we have tons of cash so why not. We should lure NAS on the promise of being a permanent starting prop too. Hayne, Matulino, NAS and Reynolds to replace Teddy, Woods, Ava and Moses. I'd be happy as Larry. Not that I have an issue with Ava but I sat down and thought about it for a while and tbh I think we're better off for balance if we let him go.

Hayne isn't technically off contract, he just has an option in his favour I think?

Correct. You would only think he'd leave if a club was to offer him more than 1mil. Can't see it happening. I think Hayne has taken all of his risky bets with NFL and Rugby 7's and play this one safe.

he could feel not wanted by Neil henry after next year and if we offer say a 3 year deal worth 850k he would jump at it for his long term financial security

Go for it Cleary. Would be better value than tedesco 1+ million

I'd be inclined to go to market if I was him. At 29 he theoretically has one good contract left. Not saying that I wouldn't re-sign with the Titans, but I'd want them to extend it another 2-3 years. Hayne should be aiming for a 900k 3 year deal at minimum right now. His value on the market next year is going to be lower because he'll be the wrong side of 30.

I know there was a report that we already turned our nose up at him but that's got to be media conjecture. I'd be very disappointed if Ivan just dismissed the notion of signing Hayne based on perceived personality issues.

I wouldn't bother with Hayne.I can imagine when things are too hard he will run off to play another sport.Maybe netball this time…

Don't forget Hayne is the same player fined this year by his own team for slacking off. His ego is far too big, just like his asking price.

Tonight was his first decent game since coming back and there was some pretty ugly talk coming out about his attitude in the off season. You're not guaranteed of getting a Hayne that is anywhere near the pre-NFL Hayne on the field but you are guaranteed of getting an arrogant, entitled jerk around the club off the field. For a million bucks a season (and you wouldn't get him for less) that's a massive gamble.

Hayne has a dream to come back to minto.

Let's hope that dream never comes true or he may want to play for the local badminton team, to fulfill his life long burning desire to be the best badminton player ever in the south west of Sydney.

I read Tolmam could be one of the guys the Dogs let go. Very underrated.

Also, read in the lurker that Matulino got his knee tested when he visited Newcastle for contract talks. They put him through his paces but Newcastle turned him away…..
