Nathen ross, tui, watson, edwards.

Am I the only one that doesnt want players contracted to another team?

The nrl has alot to answer for. Players now are playing one or two good games then demanding an upgrade or they walk. they also dont like being in reserve grade or the bench. You sign the contract and you abide by it. Both club and players. Take back the power of managers. If they dont like the contract or dislike there gametime, leave the club and get a normal job. But until your contract is up you cant play anywhere else.

This crap is getting out of hand and i for one is sick of it..

As much as I'd love some of these players.. My position has changed over the last day or so. Unless the players current club had told them to look elsewhere, then it's different. Like a kasiano or Eastwood been told to look etc

Hear hear! Why have contracts at all if it only benefits one party alone. If we stick to full stricture of Contract Law then there must be a remedy be it a player sitting out or some form of payment from player to club. A payment to rescind would see the end of the current 'joke'. Ivan is also right in the NRL establishing "transfer windows".

Although i agree with you as many other would because its becoming ridiculous, we have been on both sides of the fence recently one with Moses wanting to go before his contract is up and Robbie who we tried to move on before his contract was up.

Contracts seem to not be worth the paper they are written on, none seem to be binding from player or club if one or the other decide they dont want to abide by it they carry on like good sorts. The moral of the story is there is no loyalty or very little from either party so this will keep happening year in and year out.
The ball is in the NRL's court on how to fix it and i dont know they can.

It's beyond caring about drawing contracted players.

In fact, the more of a mess it gets, the more likely it is the NRL will do something.

So the sooner we can nab Walker from Souths the better!!

Once the salary cap is released from the NRL, there will be a host of players looking for somewhere to go.

That includes players off contract and players looking for upgrades. The clubs that have spent big on one or two high priced players will take the biggest hit.

Moley reporting yesterday that Nathan Ross from the Knights is looking for an upgrade, and isn't happy with what he's getting paid, apparently reserve graders are getting more than himself and he's prepared to talk to other clubs.

He came out last night and admitted to these claims, I can't paste the article for some reason but its a interesting read (search it up you'll be able to find it)…... Claims "bigger clubs are after him now" and he's asking for "less than 500k", he's only on 150 k for this season and next, and with the birth of his second child days ago is looking for an upgrade to support his family and that means his open to leaving and talking to teams after the season in November when he's allowed to do so.

This quote caught my eye, "when you get a promotion at work, you usually get a raise".

Anyway, what's most likely to happen is that Newcastle will give him a hefty upgrade and he'll stay, but if they don't I'd happily take him every day of the week, very good winger and for 400-500 k it'd be a big yes.

Thoughts?

Fantastic player who looks the goods in a bad team. Id be on the phone to his manager asap. We need speed and he has plenty ( not speed the drug lol).

The word is that Nelson Asofa-Solomona is staying at Melbourne. He has no intention of leaving Melbourne and they want to keep him. From what i have heard other clubs are driving up his price and now his management and Melbourne are trying to find common ground. Unfortunate… would have been a very good signing.

I honestly think the nrl is ok with all this. Think about it. If there were no rumours and innuendos about players until the season finished, the fans and media will be talking more about the governance of the nrl ie where the bloody hell are they spending money at? Theyd be too dumb to figure that out though. They are just incoincompetent ?

I wonder if the Knights give him his upgrade and he starts playing like a busted will he give them a refund? Of course he won't!

Don't sign a contract if you don't want to honor it, nobody had a gun to his head.

Nas?

Arguably the greatest rapper of all time. Would be amazing in the dressing room, not sure about on field.

Just had a look at players off contract at the end of next season.. And wow, raiders have 17 players off contract at end of 2018 season.

Maybe prince naseem, or nas as he was also known.
he would be a good half or a tricky hooker.
