Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Korobeite no doubt has talent. But only till he left the tigers and played under a melboune storm structure we got to see his potential. It makes me think that if he never left the tigers he would never of reached his potential. It also makes me think if he was to come back to the tigers will he be just another average winger. korobeite at his best at the storm still had a few errors in him i would much rather jac over korobeite but reality is both are long gone and arent coming back

If he wants out of a club that isn't doing too bad, I'd imagine he already has a destination in mind.

Would be just what we need in our backline….for one i cant see manly letting him go....but if they did, there's always the rorters there desperate for another back....and surley uncle nick could find another brown paper bag

He stated there's a problem with his contract, was the reason Nate Myles left manly

I reckon Walker would be a sensation at fullback. He can play.

We already have a fullback - don't think he wants to play reggies.

Who cares. Walker would challenge Tedesco as the best fullback once he learnt positional play. His form is out of this world and at fullback he can get more involved all over the park. Played 5/8 so would l have enough skill to basically cover every aspect of the modern day fullback. Im a huge wrap on Walker and he would be an incredible signing. Its all hope anyway. Im in dreamland.

You certainly are!!!!!

Walker could play full back for the next 50 years and he won't challenge Tedesco - talk about rose coloured glasses.

Why would i have rose coloured glasses for a Manly player? That doesn't make sense. Walker's balance is causing oppositions all sorts of bother. It makes him surprisingly powerful. Teddy is effort, bounce in bounce out, jink here, jink there. Walker is smooth. What he's doing in the centres this year is beyond belief. More ball, more room and attacking different parts of the field as a fullback would be ideal for him.

NRL rumours saying Aidan Tolman to be released by Bulldogs at the end of the season.

Target?

Depends how much he wants. Is a stats magnet, but nothing special. Bends the line less than woods

Korobeite, JAC and Brown were losses attributable to inexperienced coaches who preferred the "safe" option players such as the Rankins instead of attempting to harness the raw talent of these players.

Spot on. We have history in this department Fifita, Teo come to mind.

I really disagree. To me he was always threatening with the ball and did some amazing stuff. Scored 12 tries in his 16 games. I remember watching us play Souths in a game at ANZ where we got towelled, and he just got the ball from 10m out off a standing start and just powered over 3 defenders and scored. He had the talent. For example in 2013, he only played just under 10 games, and averaged 3 tackle breaks a game and ran for over 100m every game. Injury hurt him that year, and then the next year he just stopped getting picked. People started calling out his defensive issues (Which were never that bad).

He had the talent, potential and ability. Some poor coaching hurt him/us. I don't think anyone was suprised to see him dominating at Melbourne .

I don't go much on Tolman, seems pretty ineffective most of the time, but he's an experienced prop and we need one or two more of those for depth, so at the right price, why not? There aren't many more prop options available for next season anyway.

Tolman makes his tackles & plays well, Would go well off the Bench.

You are right tigerbenji - Tolman would be perfect off the bench.
We need another experienced prop and there are none better on the market at the moment.
Vete would be ok I suppose - try hard for both and we might end up with one of them.

With Tolman it could be a case of is he good mates with "Grub" or Graham that could swing it.

We can't go into 2018 with Matulino / Packer / and what we have now - we'll get towelled.

Tolman's game is as a workhorse and playing long minutes. He is a starting prop and not an impact player you would want off the interchange. Vete and co provide impact which is what you want.

Exactly!

The only other possibility is to start Matulino & Tolman, and then bring Vete/Twal and Packer on.
But the amount we are paying Packer, I probably don't want him on the bench.

I think we have enough depth. At the moment we have Matulino, Packer, Twal, Sue, Eisenhuth, Felise, Tatola, Lolo, Aloiai & Tim Grant (off-contract).

I would have to say no to Tolman unless we get him for an exceptional bargain, but I think Newcastle would be willing to pay more than us for his services.

Tolman is the worst prop in the NRL. He gets belted and goes backwards every three metre hit up he makes. He ball hogs in artacking zone and stifles the attack.
I see alor of Bulldogs games and every fan I have spoken to would celebrate his departure. I would rather Jack Buchannon.
