I would've loved to have Asofa-Solomana

8\. Matulino
9\. Liddle
10\. Packer
11\. Asofa-Solomana
12\. Taylor
13\. Eisenhuth

Without doubt we need a class backrower, people are putting a hell of a lot of faith in two kids with about four matches between them. Both Twal and Eisenhuth look to have plenty to offer, but over a long season you need a hard backrower with a massive engine, who turns up to play every week. All the very good sides have gun backrowers

Twal and Eisenhuth both seem to be middle players. They don't seem to be edge backrowers. I'm not worried about them slotting into the middle. I think they will go okay.

Even without any further signings I think the 2018 team is a far better side than this years, yep, even including Tedesco and Woods. No-one can sensibly argue against that, just look at our position on the table.

However, I don't think that next years team will 'click' instantly either. It will still be a work in progress.

i read in the paper today, broncos prop herman ese-ese, has been dropped because he was looking at leaving them. he has been a target of the knights. it stated the broncos were offering him $275,000 a season. think IVAN needs to see if we can get this bloke, he has been very good in each game i have seen, iam sure we could come up with $350,000 to $400,000 a season.

I thought he had already been snapped up by the knights.

Bennett won't have dropped him for no reason, he will have signed somewhere and all the talk was the Knights and nobody else in the immediately lead up to his dropping.

I'm not sure if Ivan has another top notch prop on his radar.
He was pretty quick in getting Twal into first grade and he must have been impressed with his debut. Together with Eisenhuth and still under contract Grant, maybe Cleary thinks Packer and Matulino are enough and wants to spend money in other areas.

Or just maybe he is waiting to see if a good prop comes on the market because of cap pressure and a subsidised salary?

We need another 1st grade quality second rower. Can't believe we seem to have settled on just McQueen in this area.

Not sure. Rather a strong 2ndrower then a big name prop. Vete, paasi, ofengouie can be got on the cheap.

Definitely. We need a hard preseason and lots of practise together.
Not sure if anyone remembers the Titans when they first joined the comp?
You had Lafrancie, Bell, Scott Prince, Mat Rogers, Preston Campbell…. Decent players and a good side....
They took ages to "gel".

We are rebuilding from scratch, we kind of need too. But some of our decisions will work out some won't.
I would be cautious about new hires. Conner Watson is a big gamble, so is Lolohea, our back row, most of our front row etc. WE don't know which gaps we have to plug yet.

Lets hold our powder till we know how our next years team is going.

Here's a prop for us, let's wave some cold hard cash at him and see what happens:

Plenty of people have been asking about the identity of the ‘mystery’ player mentioned in a Fox Sports column this week who wants out of his club.

I can reveal his identity - it’s big Raiders prop Junior Paulo.

Paulo left Parramatta to take some big bucks up for grabs at Canberra this season, and the move hasn’t been a successful one.

The Raiders are in a similar position to the Bulldogs, under-performing massively with six losses in their last seven games.

The club also isn’t happy, with reports of in-fighting and Paulo has told his old team-mates at Parra he wants out.

The only problem is that he is contracted for another season in 2018 on around $500,000.

The Raiders are unlikely to release him - but Parra would love to get him back - they have missed him and are desperate for a front-rower.
