We dont want to become a retirement village or super top up for players at the end of there careers we need to look at players with at least 3 to 5 years career life span.

It's what we do.
Every club does it, we just get the really bad ones

Lote Tiqiri was a really good pickup (for that one year anyway, was it 2010?) Many thought he had past it (me included). So we get some good ones.

But yes, I'm sure there's three or four not so good ones that we went for and got.

Braith and Ballin come to my head as the poor signings.

I know we don't really know for sure but does anyone have any info on potentially how much Tim Grant is on??

I'm just wondering if maybe the slow down in signing news for forwards is in some way tied up with him not making a decision on taking up the last year of his contract in 2018 and from what I understand he has until August to take up the option.

Too much otherwise he would sign elsewhere on a longer term deal.

The slow-down in signing would very possibly also be impacted upon by the salary cap for next year STILL not being confirmed. That $9.14m (I think it was) was a figure by the NRL that the RPLA were contesting over, but certainly not (to my knowledge) confirmed.

I hope we're waiting for them to release the magic number, and cross our fingers that we can snuggle a cheap bargain from clubs like Bulldogs or Penrith that may have overspent and have to have fire-sales on quality players.

Both those two clubs have let some go already, maybe Eels would also be one to watch for discarded players?

That's what I'm worried about!

Eels is the worst out of all the clubs with the salary cap. Theyl be in trouble if its only 9.14 mill.

Hopefully they need to make another hard, Peats like decision and we can sign Gutherson. They have some great forwards too..

Blake Ferguson and Josh Dugan spotted 80kms away from their
state of origin camp , at a water hole drinking and gambling on
the friday , before the third state of origin game.

So a player is gettimg 200,000$ less on a new contract from there old one. I assume its Blake F.

Correct but the NRL won't care and look after them again like normal..

I think theyl get into trouble somehow. Beau Scott payout or something. There as incompetent as the Tigers Hierarchy.

As the previous Tigers management.
I think that Pascoe and Go are doing a pretty good job considering the mess they inherited from Mayer and Humpty.
