Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yeah the ARU makes rugly leagues administrators look competent. Not sure if force or rebels will go. Id take Rona or Korobeite though…

So another week has passed. What happened to 2 definite signings to be announced within 5 days? This by the same poster who said Watson was in cooling off. Don't mean to be negative I just think some like us to think they are in the know when maybe they're not

Signings are normally announced leading into a home game.

If a person works for ANZ and gets an offer from Westpac for the exact same position, but for $20,000 a year more with absolutely everything being the same excluding the pay of course, would we expect that person to remain at ANZ out of 'loyalty' to ANZ?

Loyalty is a word that definitely needs to be removed from fans' vocabulary.

Eisenhuth staying with us would be great, but if he has a better offer and doesn't take it well frankly he'd be a moron.

100% correct. Also anyone in negotiations ahould be saying it wont matter where because it helps drive uo his price. If you say you only ever want to to stay then club shpuld be paying ypu less because tjey have no comoetition. Also he isnt a tigers junior and anyone who has had a cancer at his age would im sure know how short his opportunties might be and that he should take the best offer

I'd suggest if we want to keep him we can and this will be determined by how important Cleary believes he is to our future. Isaac Moses would be well aware the WTs have the cash.

Understand the use of the example but no way Westpac offers $20k more for the same roll and if they did the expectation would be they would want $40 to 60k return on the additional $20k investment.

And Loyalty in today's game does not apply to anyone involved in the game other than the fans (sure there maybe some small exceptions that prove the rule)

Players maybe sentimental but they shouldn't be expected to be loyal.

If you are talking about SG, his info isn't as reliable as most here believe.

I like SG and I think he may get some inside info at times but I also think that there may be times that he just makes something up.

players and teams change there minds. I believe everything SG hears from a source is what they say. Decisions can change though.

Not every player in the league has no morals. Some are bounty hunters looking for their next payload, others play for more than just $.

In teh end yes he has a short career, even shorter due to his injuries to date, but he would be retired already if we didn't throw him one last chance. He realises that. He shouldn't be expected to take $100k less because of that, if he can get way more then go for it, but he himself has said he loves the club and wants to repay the faith we showed in him. If we make him a good offer i'd be amazed if he went elsewhere for a fraction more.

Yeah I don't have daggers for SG, who cares if his mail comes in 100% of the time or not, it's just gossip, same as anyone - white, THE POM, Yossarian, Geo, Milky they all hear stuff and some of it turns out. People talk about arrogance or the way he writes his posts, but just ignore him if it's such a bother.

You look at that Corey HN article last week, imagine if you'd heard just the lead part of the story from a source - CHN has been to Ivan Cleary's house and is very close to signing on with the Tigers. It's all true and all points very strongly to a new signature, CHN said so himself, then we went back to Penrith and they upped their offer and he took it. These things sit on the edge of a knife sometimes, players who have chosen to leave or not come in very close and very tough decisions. E.g. by all accounts, Luke Lewis was v close to signing for us, he was reportedly swayed by his former Penrith teammates and the idea of living in the Shire, nothing really at all to do with the clubs, their structure etc.

Exactly. Apart from family mates in your team have a big bearing as well. I really dislike this COP period because managers have ten days to try and up there players worth at there current club. Once they sign it should be binding straight away.

I know a few disagree with my opinion but I believe that if you actually sign a contract, that's it. Just because there is a technical way out (COP) it doesn't change the fact that you have gone back on word. Many a player has agreed on a handshake in years gone by.

To his credit so far, Woods has said that he has signed a contract with the Dogs and he is still going.

just read on Fox sports that Newcastle are looking at Graham and Klemmer from the Dogs, also read on the ever reliable Twitter world that they were also looking at making Jackson an offer.
Would love to know if the Tigers are at least looking at Klemmer and Jackson, they would certainly be the icing on the cake as far as a new forward pack goes. it also now appears that the Western Force will fold, so hopefully Rona becomes a Tiger, although it has been mentioned that the Eels are interested.
The club needs to act now, before other clubs take the best on offer from the over spending clubs.
Wouldn't it be good to see a headline next year referring to 'Bulldogs player Aaron woods caught having coffee with Tiger players Jackson, Klemmer and Reynolds….'.

Newcastle should leave graham be. The dogs are in trouble. If graham goes there goes a mill off there cap next year.

Rona will come here i think. We have more cash than the eels.

Boyle hasnt done anything honestly. Would of rather crighton or CHN.

Id takeJosh Jackson from the dogs but thats it.
