Realistically, what areas do you think we need to strengthen?

I would say fullback, only because Lolohea is fairly unproven in that position, and after him I can't see many really good options.

And I think we're one prop short at this point, even with the re-signing of Grant.

Going to be really interesting to see what happens with final two spots, Cleary keeps suggesting there will be more player movement.

We got a solid team but now we need an "x-factor" , "a point of difference".
Maybe its Lolo , or maybe Moylan.

Maybe Curtis Rona?

I think his height, speed, finishing ability would be a nice addition to our squad.

Gone quite on that front though

His name has come up as going to the eels recently. Would be a great addition to our team.

Him and another hard nosed budget forward

We already have a gun fullback. How many do we need?

Not yet we don't. We have a fullback that has potential. He could turn out to be a gun in the future but he's not there yet.

Think your underestimating Tui, Avo. He is closer to a gun FB than anyone else we have or likely to get in the near future imho.

Warriors releasing Hoffman, Thompson, Lillyman, Allwood & Ogden - any interest there?

I'm thinking ESL for the first three, not sure re Allwood & Ogden.

Hoffman -> Storm
Lillyman -> Newcastle

Allwood and Ogden who knows - no interest here.

I'd take Bodene on the cheap.

I like Tui, I think he's a good player with the potential to be a very good player, but he's not there yet. To label him a gun fullback is incorrect (he didn't even play fullback for any of 2017).

Slater, Tedesco, Boyd, Tom T are gun fullbacks. Tui is nowhere near their level. Not yet anyway.

I'm not saying he is gun Avo, just saying he is closer to a gun than anything we have. From the games I saw him play at FB he was much better than he was at 5/8 for us. His cover defence wasn't bad either.
Saw him run at least 60 metres on one occasion and take a guy out in the corner and I mean take out.

Getting hot now so rather than making a thread for every random signing rumour let's talk here about rumoured signings.

So far we have rumoured to have actually been signed.

Chris McQueen
Kurt Capewell
Ben Matulino
Taane Milne

Rumoured approaches but no claims of being signed.

Shaun Johnson
Bodene Thompson
Albert Vete
Gareth Widdop
Russell Packer

Any I am missing?

400 pages later…

At least we signed 4 of them haha

I say unless they are 100% shoe in for a position in the 17 and play in a position we need, than we go with what we have and save the last two positions for a couple of young up and comers with real talent who are willing to learn their trade in reserve grade and bide their time till they get a crack. Our top 17 has its fair share of players who are getting on, we need to have players ready to make the next step in a year or two.

I think we already have a number of younger guys in the "up and coming" category in the squad. Twal, Suli, Gibbs, Tali, Aloiai and Gamble are all young up and comers in key spots. Maybe a young winger in this mould would be good. Could count Eiso in same category even though he's 25\. So IMO maybe one spot to a younger guy and one to a proven first grader if possible.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if we don't sign anyone until next year. Why not leave 2 spots for any players that want a mid season release? Parra are leaving a spot open for Semi next year

I think that the NRL make you fill the 30 spots.

If you sign someone with contract value > than someone in the existing Top 30, they bump that person out of the Top 30 don't they?
