Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Rumour update:

Not WT related, but when I post I'm usually very close to the mark.

- Alan Thompson has been tapped on the shoulder. (Dogs head of football operations) was gifted option of leaving now or 3 months notice as per contract. Has opted with 3 months. This completes full overhaul of staff in big positions.

- Blake green, has agreed to 3 years with warriors from next season, contrary to reports manly has re-signed him.

Confidence level 90% for both of these rumours.

If true changes a lot of speculation about Moylan & Manly you would think

Which just goes to show how do clubs afford to have big time players on their books and stay under the cap: Daley Cherry-Evans, Marty Tapua, 2 x Turbo bro's, Dylan Walker, Joel Thompson and now they are after Moylan. Shakes head in disbelief .. !!!

Did someone shoot "Smoking Gun"?

He was shooting too many blanks.

Fired on the mark more than 99% of this forum. This thread would be at 150 pages without him. The lameos who aim at him (not you, bathursttiger or kafta) would just be bagging another thread if he wasn't around.

What about the Warriors? RTS, Green, Johnson, Luke, Harris, Mannering, Blair. Is the exchange rate $1Au=$5000 NZ?

Luckily the Warriors could add Thurston, Taumalolo, Morgan etc to their roster as well and still somehow manage to be a crap team.

Wild Rumour I heard.

Cooper Cronk goes to the Roosters with Mitchell Pearce coming to the Tigers.

Realistically I can't see any hope of it happening. However the same guy told me about the Tedesco to the Roosters a month before it happened.

Let the fun and games begin. If Cronk isn't retiring then a few sydney clubs with some big names will be up in the air.

Wow, Pearce at origin is like watching Brooks at NRL level, but Pearce at NRL level is a good player, can't see it happening but wouldn't be too bad if it did.

Same, can't see it happening but who knows these days. Definitely will be rumours floating around until Cooper gives an answer if he's playing on or not.

Why go for Pearce go for Cronk Pearce didn’t what to be here used to be a Balmain Ball Boy something that every other kid in the district would have cherished

Well the way I loo at it Cronk has limited options but still a few
Sharks - If they move Maloney along but my understanding is Cronk doesent want to play with them
Penrith - Means Moylan goes and Cronk to guide Cleary - This is the most likely option IMO
Bunnies - However would need to move on some big cattle to create the room but with the new coach a QLD assistant mayby
Tigers - We have cap roo and a struggling young half but unlikely - we will be more likely looking for other cast offs

Only other option is someone moving their big name half for Cronk but at 34 starting the season whats the point for most of them unless you are in a premiership window which means Roosters mayby

The Roosters are going to give up Pearce, who could still give them another 6 or 7 years for Cronk who would give you 2 years tops. I doubt it.

He will retire. I don't think there's any chance he plays on. He would be on big money with FOX and his fiancé also.
Fox pays full time presenters around 700k+
Why would you tarnish your record for another year or 2 when you have a career in TV.

Cronk to the Roosters would have to be near impossible. There is no way they would have cap space for him, even if they moved on Pearce. The NRL needs to do something about the salary cap and the amount of chopping and changing that goes on throughout the season. It's fast becoming a joke and an unfunny one at that.

I quite like the EOFY signing deadline as it allows the unsettled to move, but think it should only be carried out over a two week or so timeframe, with something similar in January if needed. Actually think the open horse trading would be interesting and beneficial to many.

IMO Pearce struggles at NRL level too. He is very ordinary. He would make a good NRL hooker i reckon, but not a half.
