The Tigers chased Newcastle cult hero Nathan Ross last season - and may have another crack at him for 2019.

Ross ended up re-signing with the Knights, but contracts are made to be broken and the prospect of playing at fullback or centre with the Tigers may sway him.

The flying finisher is stuck on the wing at Newcastle and would love to play closer to the action.

The Tigers have made a stunning start to 2018 and play the type of fast, open football that would appeal to Ross.

The Knights have a host of outside backs and may let Ross go at the end of the year to strengthen their forwards.

Overs in my opinion. But we lost our big players and he was a local boy looking to stay, while Parra were supposedly lurking. I have my doubts about that, think it's just agent talk.

It's probably just me but, I don't rate Mansour that highly. Especially not at +$400K.

I don't want him for that price either.

Imo all we need is an origin class Fullback, left centre and hooker.

Read a story saying that Souths are looking at a genuine second rower for 2019 to replace Crichton. Names included, Michael Oates, Felise Kaufusi and Josh Papilli.

Surely we might be interested in some of them? I thought we were interested in Felise Kafusi last year, so not sure how he is off contract again?

I'd be a massive no to Papalii.
Only plays to his best effort 3 times a season.

30 players, 9.1m + 100k car allowance + 200k veteran/development player

I see that there is a lot of conjecture about who to buy. Personally I reckon that we should wait until we get a better picture of whether we can score tries. Currently, the only one who I see breaking the line consistently is Thompson and that is due to his acceleration. We might need a playmaker and some zip out wide. But that will show up over the next few weeks so let's wait.

Why wouldn't you want Mansour
Thompson at fullback has outplayed both Slater and Tedesco in the games he has played so I would be happy to leave him there for now

Having Mansour on the left wing would be an upgrade on MWZ
who is off contract at the end of this year
Although I would still keep MWZ as back up
We would still have plenty $ for a couple more decent players
Especially if we don't re sign Grant Felise and Sue
I am very confident in our forwards
They have already shown what they are capable of and will only get better
If Liddle performs we are set
I would then put the money we have left into another centre
Let's say Ross
And a decent utility player ???
There would still be enough money for a good second rower
Maybe someone like Corey Oats
I think he would be a real asset to our team

I will ask this question of you all
Would Masour and Oats make our team stronger

As i stated i think we only need a centre, fullback and hooker.

Liddle can fill the hooking role, i have big opinion of him. The other two positions need addressing.

Spending 400k on Mansour will only take money away from a centre or fullback. Our current wingers and depth there is ok. Not fantastic but good enough.

I dont think we need a back rower at all. its a strength of ours. Eisenhuth and Aloiai are class players.

When you have Nofoaluma, MWZ, Thompson, Naiqama and Fonua as wing options

and only

Lolohea and Thompson as fullback options.

You dont spend 400k on a winger!
