Just read that Jack Bird isn unsettled at Brisbane along with Oats….

We want a good defensive centre with a bit of strike power in attack, Jack bird is as good as they come.

Oats and Masters on one side scares me in terms of how much impact and power they could bring.

I’d look at both of them

but if we had to choose one of those players I would go with Oats

agree that he is a great player and the type of player we need.

but if he has the wrong attitude and doesnt want to play with teammates then he might not be the best fit for us

Oates wants to play secondrow, so he will go where that can happen

I don't find Jack Bird that impressive as a centre, certainly not someone I'd want to see us spend ~$700K on.

If Corey Oates wants to test himself as a second rower and take a 400k deal he’s worth a crack. Can’t command big money for a position just to have a crack.

Jack Bird is on 950K at the Broncos Cronulla offed him 750K Newcastle offed him 850K and that's a big part why Gallen is so dirty with him is because he is jealous of the money he was offed so early in his career and he is not worth that much Brisbane have such an unbalanced roster with Boyd Milford and Bird on 3 million between them no money for forwards

Bird is another Moses like critter that has a bad attitude and fails to perform.

Avoid.

Me too.
Bird has ego.

Just read on Tripple M's NRL Twittter
that Josh Papalii is asking for $800,000 a season as exit looms.

Four NRL clubs are interested but is he worth the money???

(sorry i dont know how to post the article off twitter)

(he's currently on $430,000 a year)

Is that 600K for Pies and 200K for footy..

Can't see Ivan entertaining that price tag…paid less for Packerlino combined..

Like him as a player and on his day he's devastating but I can't see us stumping up that kind of coin for him.

I'll just say we wont be interested in a player like Papalii until Lawrence, McQueen, Grant and Taylor are off the books.

Its not free money you have to spend it to build a balanced squad.

Agree. Sue In this week. JJ Felese or Grant are next in. Papalii could jump a few places but he'd have to prove his defence is up to it. I think Ivan will spend the money elsewhere, unless the Raiders pay part salary.

He is off contract at the end of the year, the raiders will be paying nothing

I reckon our forwards are doing the job. Spend the money on the backs - let's get some blistering pace and quality out wide. It's all coming together nicely….

That’s big money for a couple of good games a year.
