Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Granville rumour is an interesting one.

You would think if we had Granville that we would play him and Liddle. That would just about see the end of Benji Marshall i would say. I couldnt see Cleary signing Granville and then giving Benji another year.

Unless of course its a state cup mentor thing like that guy over at Norths.

Hard to understand why such players would not be able to see, that apart from an odd performance, the game has passed them by and they are only diminishing their careers.

I would not be surprised with:
Barba to sharks
Holmes to cowboys
Coote to tigers

Basing this on our history of signing older players with a history of injuries and questionable form on long term deals

Are you referring to history pre or post Ivan coming on board? The only questionable deal for me has been Reynolds over 4 years at $750k a season. Apart from that, signings have been pretty astute. A moneyball approach but no extensively long contracts.

I don't think Coote will be a Tiger. Reckon Mbye will. Looking into the future, I doubt Tui will be resigned which will free up another $450k to throw at Cleary in 2020.

Tui has been a major disappointment this year…..watched last weekends ISP highlights and he did a "Bryce Cartwright" in defence...he appears to be a lazy player....shame...let him and McQueen go asap.

**Mole warning**

**Former Tiger poised to make comeback**

One of rugby league’s most popular players of recent years, big Keith Galloway, is poised to make a comeback after retiring at the end of last season following a three-year stint with English clubs Leeds.

Galloway, still only 32, will give something back to the game, playing alongside former Wests Tigers team-mate Bryce Gibbs for Oakdale in the Group 6 competition.

The former NSW State of Origin and Test forward played over 250 top grade games but still has the “itch”.

“It’s more for fun and to help the young blokes than anything,” says Galloway, who also now has a ‘real’ job doing cable installations.

**Coote's future all but sealed**

The dropping of Lachlan Coote by Cowboys coach Paul Green over the weekend has all but sealed the star fullback’s future.

One of the heroes of the Cowboys’ 2015 premiership win, Coote has been mulling over his future and a return to Sydney for months.

But after being given the axe following some indifferent performances in recent weeks, Coote seems certain to pack his bags and come back to Sydney.

Born and raised in Sydney, Coote has been in the far north since 2014 and is known to be homesick for friends and family.

A hamstring injury saw him start this season in rehab and he has struggled to find his best form since his return in a disappointing Cowboys side.

The Cowboys’ interest in former local boy Valentine Holmes is also a clear message to Coote that the club is looking in another direction.

If Kevin goes to Super League Brian Kelly would be a good replacement.

We lack some serious speed in the backline so Mybe would be a great addition.

Agree we need an aggressive prop and second rower.
