Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Does anyone rate keegan hipgrave, he’s off contract at the end of this year. Also think packer is letting us down a lot…. starting to realise woods contributed way more than packer

So Godinet and Sue are next….

Heath Gibbs is already gone.

Mikaele, Smith, McIntyre kept on as cup players....

Clean out is going strong imo.

Just need McQueen to GO to ESL.

So we’re losing Naiqama, **DWZ, Grant.** No loss
We’ve already lost **Milne, Suli, Drinkwater**. No loss
We bring Farah in for a farewell tour and get rid of **Killa**. No Loss
We’ve signed Mbye ✅
**McQueen** hasn’t been sighted - Played last week
Reynolds, Packer, Lolo seem to have long term injuries (not initiated this year) **Yes they were**
We don’t appear to be chasing any elite players unless you count the coaches son. **You'll know when they are signed.**
We tell a **world class prop?** he is surplus to our needs - Correct decision
Are we perhaps looking to sign a recruitment manager that doesn’t have his head planted up his….....

So - next question.

Packer is clearly playing injured.
Hipgrave is no good.

Add MWZ to your list of of players who won't be with the club next season. It's looking like there will a few more than six players (1/2 a team) that need replacing in the top 30 next year.

So you think recruitment is all it could be? Apart from a 6 week peak in excitement our rebuild seems a little disjointed, disorganised and perhaps reactive.
But I don’t have the answers - seems we are still not an option for high quality players.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

When you were a basketcase - who do you think was going to come here?

Cleary had to grab the best he could under the circumstances. Did we really want all the people he bought; I'd say no but positions have to be filled. Didn't help that we lost a few along the way though e.g. Milne, Drinkwater etc. This, along with a few injuries put more pressure on the team, so much so that the preferred spine has not come together yet.

Some of the players bought were to help try and build a team but they won't be there at the end (Cleary said that himself) now some are gone and a few more will be added for next year and hopefully we will be more competitive than this year, to the point we may snag a few top class players to get us to where we want to go.

its ironic that grant and dwz are going to Penrith .
I had hoped the tigers could pick up some Penrith rejects in 2019 not the other way around.

If ever the Tigers were going to stand up and show the benefit of a mostly new roster and new culture, it would have been at Leichhardt last Sunday, Robbie back, Mbye here, but they played like amateurs, well cultured amateurs I might add, leaderless rabble is more accurate, for next year and two after that we have **four players on huge contracts**, two of them we apparently knew were injury prone, Matt’s and Jrey, two of them Packer and McQueen have not done much, 2.5 mil of our cap gone for the next three years, like most others, I was hoping for improvement, but when you look at the cold hard facts above, we have many more years as also rans, ladies and gentlemen

How much are these huge contracts?

750 Reynolds, 690 Packer, 450 Matulino, McQueen 450

Hardly huge contracts in this day and age.

Packer not much more than 500, 600 at a push.
McQueen quoted at being 400 a year for 3 years.
More closer than 2million in cap space….

The other problem is the players that are available are not necessarily the ones we need. I’d rather wait for the right players than spend for the sake of it and end up with more duds.

It’s really hard to say when you have no idea who were after and what we are offering. If top players a brushing us I don’t think that will change overnight.

The coach’s son also has problems, only performed first game back from the knee injury but hasn’t been doted off Nobby’s since.
Came. back too early from the knee injury! Selfish really, just for a shot at Origin .. may not be the same post injury, got into the clear a couple of weeks ago but galloped like a camel

Bulldog Richie said on MMM today that there is talk of Ivan and Nathan going to the Broncos in 2020.

Assume he got the "talk" from facebook as that went around last week, he has been known to troll the club forums etc.

I think we could do with a bit of Garner in the second row, perhaps for a couple of games so he knows the standard.

Headline on NRL reads Val Holmes to NQ in 2020

He clearly wants to go there and is pushing the sharks to let him go early with all these stories about 2020

Interesting his comment about flanno "over my dead body comment" said he didnt know coach was that keen on him.

Alot of hidden meaning in that comment i think.
